Chocolate Thumbprint Cookies with Custard Filling 🍪🍫 | Rich and Creamy Dessert Treat
Cookie Dough 2 cups all-purpose flour 3/4 cup cocoa powder 1 cup butter, softened 1 cup sugar 1 egg 2 tsp vanilla extract 1/2 tsp salt Custard Filling 2 cups whole milk 4 egg yolks 1/2 cup sugar 1/4 cup cornstarch 2 tsp vanilla extract Pinch of salt Garnish 4 oz dark chocolate, chopped Instructions Make Cookies: Cream butter and sugar Add egg and vanilla Mix in dry ingredients Roll into 1-inch balls Make deep thumbprint in center Bake at 350°F for 12-14 minutes Re-press centers while warm Cool completely Prepare Custard: Whisk egg yolks, sugar, cornstarch Heat milk until steaming Temper egg mixture with hot milk Cook until thickened Strain and cool completely Assembly: Pipe custard into cookie centers Sprinkle with chopped chocolate Chill until set
