What kid hasn’t had some sort of rock collection? Discovering new rocks, shiny pebbles, and hidden gems in the great outdoors is always a treat for kiddos, mine included. Over the years, we have collected our fair share of unique rocks and have even gone mining for diamonds (Herkimer Diamonds or crystals to be exact). Plenty of pockets and jars have been filled with amazing rocks taken from favorite beaches and turned into collections.

Firstly I have to thank lilfishstudios - www.lilfishstudios.blogspot.com/ - for the inspiration and idea of felting in a jar. Her wonderful terrariums inspired me to recreate a cross section of planet earth, from the molten core to the green grass, complete with grazing sheep. Basically layers of wool, with a few bits and bobs of wooly leftovers added.
