Being a fan of JRR Tolkien, he was struck with the idea of creating a Hobbit-themed workshop. It is a two-meter-tall shed that features a Hobbit-like green round door made by wood artist Ali himself. He spent almost six months and over £2,000 (about $2,700) building and perfecting his backyard workshop.

Bux End, a Hobbit home-inspired garden shed built by Chris Hield as his hobby workshop has been named the overall winner of the 2019 Cuprinol Shed of the Year competition. Bux End was one of the 20 shortlisted finalists, and the shed was featured under Nature’s Haven category in the competition. The shed won after receiving most public votes.

I am finally getting to the most characteristic part of the hobbit-hole (aside from being under ground): the round door. Actually, truth be told, it is not going to be a fully round door. To make the door a complete circle would be an engineering feat. It is possible, but it would require that I spend a lot more money on a very large, specialized hinge.
