I transformed my boring white IKEA Bissa shoe cabinet into a nice feature. I collected unwanted pallets for free then dismantled them and sized them up to fit on the sides and the top. I sanded the wood and cleaned it before gluing it to the cabinet. Then a little bit of linseed oil to finish it off and I put some little handles.

Lisa on Instagram: "The whole project only took about 2 days. The cabinets are 3 x the IKEA BISSA shoe shelf. I sanded them down very well and then applied 2 coats of paint. I ordered the paint from @kolorat in the option “furniture paint”. I used the following blue colour: K/41-21-0-0/T and bought 0,75l. When you put the code on the website, you’ll find it directly. The blue looks very similar to the one from Tylko. I love it and the color is super high quality! I can totally recommend…

IKEA Shoe Cabinet Hack

I really wanted to thrift a vintage shoe cabinet with lots of character, but after 6 months of failing to find one, I decided to hack my own using the popular Ikea Hemnes shoe cabinet. I added some moulding to the legs and doors, painted it a chocolate chalk paint and finished it with some dark furniture wax to get that vintage look I wanted!
