This week I had the rare privelege of visiting the habitat of Florida's legendary "Ghost Orchid", Dendrophylax lindenii. You may know of this orchid from Susan Orleans' book, The Orchid Thief. The movie Adaptation, which starred Meryl Streep and Nicholas Cage. was based on the book. Dendrophylax lindenii. is a rare leafless orchid that grows in the swamps of Southwest Florida.
