In this article, Robert Frost was told to be born in San Francisco in 1874, but grew up in Massachusetts. He was always interested in reading and writing poetry in high school. After graduating, he attended college at Dartmouth College and later Harvard University, but never earned a formal degree. He worked many jobs after school such as a teacher, cobbler and began publishing poetry, such as his first poem "My Butterfly." He wrote six book collections of poetry before he died in 1963.

Robert Frost (1874-1963), born in San Francisco, CA. His father William Frost, a journalist, died when Frost was eleven years old. His Scottish mother, the former Isabelle Moody, resumed her career as a schoolteacher to support her family. The family lived in Lawrence, MA, with Frost's paternal grandfather, William Prescott Frost, who gave his grandson a good schooling.
