28th August and today's tiara is the Strathmore Rose Tiara. It was bought in 1923 by the Earl of Strathmore as a wedding present for his daughter, Lady Elizabeth, the future Queen Mother. It was also photographed on the wife of the 4th Baron Newborough about this time. The Queen Mother wore it prior to becoming Queen, but it has not been worn by anyone since. It can also be broken up and worn as brooches. Although it hasn't been worn in over 80 years it has been put on display.
