Our main focus

Each year, Oltepesi hosts professional wildlife photographers and nature photo enthusiasts from around the world to capture exceptional images. Therefore, it is a great honour that our guests consistently secure prize-winning photographs in international photo competitions. Oltepesi is also the Premium Sponsor of two highly esteemed photo contests: the European Wildlife Photographer of the Year (GDT) and the Nordic Nature Photo Contest (NNPC). The main prize for the Overall Winner in these contests is an 8-10 day all-inclusive safari in Maasai Mara for two at Oltepesi Tented Safari Camp.

They are exceptionally skilled at locating wildlife and reading the signs to position the vehicle optimally. They collaborate closely with their guests and actively seek backlighting if that is prioritised, recognising that moving the car one metre forward or back can make all the difference for the photographer.

Oltepesi Tented Safari Camp is an eco safari camp located in Maasai Mara, Kenya, designed for professional wildlife photographers and nature photo enthusiasts. The camp was established in 2017 based on a shared photography concept developed by Arnfinn Johansen and John Siololo, and is locally operated by John Siololo together with an experienced Maasai team. Oltepesi is situated in Oltepesi Village — a genuine Maasai village — offering guests an authentic cultural setting alongside world-class wildlife photography opportunities.
