The Open Charge Alliance (OCA) is a non-profit organisation founded in 2014. With members from all over the world we focus on open standards and improving the development of sustainable charging.
Our mission is to foster the global development, adoption, and universal interoperable use of communication protocol standards for EV charging infrastructure. Through collaboration, education, mutual compatibility testing, and certification, we support an open EV charging environment that encourages innovation and expands choice. We help deliver a reliable charging experience for consumers and regulators worldwide, and we assist the industry and EV drivers in the transition to electric mobility – for a sustainable future.
The OCA reinvests the fees collected from members and companies purchasing OCTT to advance the development and spread of OCPP and other open standards. Lately, we reached an important milestone with the IEC approvals of OCPP 2.0.1 (IEC63584) and OCPP 2.1 (IEC 63584-210).
With more than 400 members from all over the globe, we span all sectors of the industry, including charging equipment manufacturers, software and systems providers, charging network operators, and research organizations.
