OpenLogi is an open source app with which you can manage your Logitech peripherals without relying on the brand's official software. With this program, you can manage the buttons, sensitivity, and general behavior of your mouse or keyboard completely locally, without user accounts or data collection.
Compatible with all Logitech protocols and dongles
OpenLogi works the same way regardless of your peripheral's connection method, including devices with Logi Bolt, Unifying, or Lightspeed, as well as those that connect via Bluetooth or with a USB cable.
Button remapping and SmartShift fine-tuning
Any of the 44 default actions can be assigned to any physical button on your device, with the option to create custom shortcuts, launch apps, or set up macros with multiple chained actions to reduce the number of clicks required. The panel also includes a graphical representation of your model, from which you can calibrate resolution levels according to each task. Likewise, for peripherals with a free-spin wheel, the SmartShift activation threshold can be adjusted, so you can determine how much force is required to switch from notched mode to infinite scrolling. What's more, each connected device also has its own checkbox to invert the vertical scroll direction.
Profiles saved in plain text
All your shortcuts and preferences are saved in a single file in TOML format, which can be opened with any basic editor, making it easy to review key combinations, duplicate assignments, or back up your settings. With that same document, you can instantly replicate your custom controls on another computer, and you can also activate specific profiles based on the app in the foreground.
My experience with OpenLogi
With OpenLogi, I was able to manage my Logitech G502 Lightspeed, which I use for gaming, and my Logitech M720 Triathlon, which I use for work, from the same panel. Before, I needed to have both Logi Options+ and Logitech G HUB installed, but now I can manage both mice from the same place and share shortcuts and program profiles between them with zero hassle. I was able to map keys, export settings, and adjust the DPI for each one, all without logging into an account, with lower resource consumption than the official options, and with a noticeably faster interface, too.
What I liked most about OpenLogi and what could be improved
· What I liked the most: how lightweight the background service is and the ability to assign complex gestures to any button without the limitations imposed by the manufacturer.
· What could be improved: editing advanced macros directly in the text file requires some fluency with the syntax so as not to end up breaking the general configuration.
Download OpenLogi if you want to use your Logitech peripherals outside of the official software, with button mapping, specific program profiles, and all your settings saved in a simple text file.
