Locals Only began as a 2015 photozine idea, born from the desire to capture the feeling of being a local—nostalgia, familiarity, and belonging. With roots stretching back to photography that started in 2005, the project matured into a decade-long archive of negatives spanning California and beyond, brought to life on Hyperliquid.
What sets it apart is the meticulous process: images shot on ten different cameras across fifty six different types of film stocks, developed by hand, scanned, and tagged directly from their original negatives. Even the trailer was filmed on Super 8mm, making the collection a rare translation of analogue grit and warmth into the digital art space.
Shot on Super 8mm Canon 814.
There are 4 different types of film canisters C-41 (Color Negative), E-6 (Color Positive) Black & White and ECN-2 (Motion Picture) film where you head to the darkroom and develop your film manually or can keep it sealed, the choice is yours.
Locals Only isn’t just a gallery; it’s an invitation. Holders step into a world where analogue craft and blockchain culture meet, with access to future mints, physical prints, and a dedicated photozine. It’s more than a snapshot—it’s a living narrative of film photography’s enduring magic, reframed for a new medium.
Art Exhibit sponsored by Hyperliquid communities such as Hypio, Driptrade, LiquidLoot, Hypurr Collective, d0thype, Hyperswap, Timeswap, Trifecta, Tidemarket and Alright Buddy.
