Hellenic Routes Olive Oil is a line of premium Extra Virgin Olive Oils, crafted from Greece’s most celebrated varieties—Tsounati, Koroneiki, Megaritiki, and Manaki. Produced exclusively for export, these oils embody the quality of small-scale cultivation while carrying the story of Greece’s land and culture abroad.
The design draws inspiration from the first Greek postage stamp, issued in 1861, depicting Hermes, messenger of the gods. Hermes became the emblem of the brand: a figure that delivers messages across distances, just as the oils deliver the essence of Greece to the world.
Each variety is identified by its own colour palette, creating a collectible series of “stamps.” Typography, borders, and engraved details were developed with a philatelic sensibility, enhancing the feeling that every bottle is a message carefully crafted and sent from Greece.
Equally important was the choice of structure. We partnered with Phil the Bottle, a renowned brand known for its sleek, refillable, nomadic form. Its flask-like silhouette emphasises portability while also supporting the sustainable philosophy behind the product. Designed to be refilled, the bottles become enduring objects rather than disposable packaging. Each refill adds another chapter to the ongoing journey of Hellenic Routes.
The result is packaging that transcends function. Hellenic Routes Olive Oil is not only a culinary product but also a cultural artefact, a travel book, and a collector’s item. Opening the bottle feels like unfolding a chapter of Greek history, written by nature and human care.
