Bluebelle and Pebbles Go To Paris

~Rosie in the UK contacted me, saying she wanted to send her 2 Bunnies to Paris I was thrilled. Visions of Peter Cottontail danced in my head... When at last Bluebelle's photo arrived I was a little taken aback. Who knew not all rabbits have up standing ears?

Or that a very fine rabbit like Pebbles can legitimately have one ear up and one ear down? Meet the Lop Eared Rabbit!  Some bunnies are quelle ordinaire.Paris is full of lapin it turns out.

Surely it's the perfect place for Bluebelle et Pebbles to spend their Easter vacance.

They will be in very good company.

Do you have a bunny begging to go to Paris? Or a chicken perhaps? Why deprive them?

Once they've had their fill of macarons, what's to stop them high-tailing it over to Au Lapin Agile to down a coupe with Picasso.

Lop Eared Bunnies have quite won my heart. What about you? They're ever so friendly. Just watch the video and you'll be smitten.

I spotted these lapin/bunnies in Paris last October.

Were they a sign that bunnies were coming into my life big time?
 

These lovely porcelaine bunnies are in Provence are made to hold..dare I say it - pate de lapin.Triste!
 

These bunnies reside in Vienna. Pretty adorable!

Gold Bunny has been doing guest appearences in San Francisco! I'm jealous. We never get anything in New york. I’ve heard that LGB was sighted in Paris, where I'll be next week.

I do worry a bit what I'll do when Easter is over...
I just joined the Flickr Bunny Lovers Unite group, so there's hope for me. These shiny rows of Gold Bunnies reside in the New York Lindt flagship store.
But don't they look like they could be sitting inside Tutankhamun's pyramid?

I saw last week New Yorker's cover and thought, YAY! another artist studying his artwork..

WRONG!

The cover title was "The Man Who Loved Women," by artist Benoit van Innis...

Naturally I've been back to the Lindt store to study Gold Bunny some more..

The Lindt Gold Bunny has his own website it turns out with games and news of his whereabouts!

I'm not too thrilled what Jeff Koons did to this bunny...
I personally think he might have looked at the Lindt's Bunny more closely.
The Lindt Gold Bunny is so beautifully designed...sigh

Now Steiff did a version of the Lindt Gold Bunny I highly approve of.
I just wish I could find a bigger version of it :)
I'm not yet satisfied with my paintings of LGB,
so I hope you'll put up with my obsession for just a little bit longer...

Hello Lindt Goldhase (Lindt Gold Bunny)!

I marched right off to the New York Lindt shop on 692 Fifth Avenue to see what was what...

I wanted to take pictures of my new love inside...

But I was told permission would have to come from Corporate headquarters :(

Now this is one place I would love to visit -

I want to sit in these giant Lindt Goldhase chairs at the Kadawe Department store in Berlin!
WOW !

I'm not the only one mad for Lindt Goldhase...

Harrods of London ordered one in 24-caret gold encrusted with diamonds!


I could really go for this car...

You may be wondering...What's up with this girl now?!

True this bunny is Swiss, not even French!
And not even from the French-speaking part of Switzerland either!?
And the milk chocolate bunny is particularly gorgeous too!
Hey! not even 65% dark chocolate!
And this bunny is no SPRING chicken either!
Goldhase has been around since the early 1950s...
Well the design is simply masterful!
And a sheer joy to paint.
So there will be more Lindt Goldhase to come along with those daffodils.

He makes me feel so Springy :)

We've had a tiny sniff of SPRING last week for 2 WHOLE days in New York City...sigh Shop doors were wide open. People were walking around WITHOUT their jackets.

While everyone else was stripping for Spring, I was indoors painting daffodils and chocolate bunnies.

Oh and Faberge eggs for THE RUSSIAN TEA ROOM!

They have a beautiful collection by the way.

Remember when I wrote about eating Thanksgiving dinner at RTR last November. Well, they "discovered" my story. So while I obsessed on Fauchon last week at Paris Breakfasts, I was secretly rushing to finish menu art for them: Easter, Valentine's Day and Tea Salon menus.

The cold weather has come back and made us put our hats, coats, mufflers and gloves back on, but I'm sticking with my bunnies and daffodils! I found these bunnies at Les Fleurs, 3 Passage de la bonne Graine 75011. I'm going back to Paris end of March

I want to see all the Easter/chocolate shenannigans and I'm going to visit Les Fleurs too.

Evidently chocolate fish are very BIG for French Pacques / Easter and I want to know why..? It's all strictly for research mind you.
