London Outdoors

Was I the only one who wanted to sit a chilly movie theater in London? Evidently. Where was my Summer print frock? Strapless, sleeveless, halterneck, white piqué were everywhere. Sometimes a black macaron T-shirt will not do save the day.
From Time-Out magazine, which by the way, is given out FREE on Tuesdays.
I hope these people have on sunscreen like 50+.
Picnicking is the only way to eat sur l'herbe.
Some Londoners are sunning on the cement...
Covent Garden was chock-a-block with people roasting...
Street performers were out in force and this French gent was dressed appropriately for the weather.
This performer not so much...
Not a comfortably summer dress in my opinion...
Nor this getup either..
How do they do it?
The Summer sales are on here as well and the shopping bags are huge.
The best surprise was exiting Somerset House on the Strand level and discovering this free-for-all fountain/pool on Sunday
Everyone was having a ball!

But poor Bear, in his cashmere stripes, could not partake of London's outdoor pleasures.

London Art supplies

I'm cooling off in HQ Apple London and the best place to post.
Natch I picked up a new paintbox - a mini Kremer set from AP Fitzpatrick (33£). It used to be on Amazon..then the very nice folks sent me to Atlantic art supply, maybe the biggest art shop world-wide? They have my favorite brushes, Da Vinci Junior Synthetic, which I discovered is made especially for kindergarten children. Who knew? I still love em and they last pretty long. I had not been to Brick Lane before - a FAB place to go if you're looking for vintage anything and ethnic eats. Loaders of fun! I'm including a few shots inside the club and the daily work of art I'm eating here -> Pret a Manger's crawfish sandwich.
Stay cool PBers!

London Hedges

London is HOT HOT HOT, and everyone is thrilled except me.
The parks are jam-packed with sunbathers. Me, I'm trying to stay cool which ain't easy in a town with few fans let alone AC. Still here's a looksee of hedges, antiques, dog-of-the-day and the dear old club cat, Squeak who stole into my bed last night...Enjoy.

Fortnum & Mason Hampers

Depend on the British to come up with christmas hampers, ok hampers for all occasions. Fortnum & Mason has all manner of hampers and everything required therein...
This is your basic hamper...
Inside you'll want F&M's splendid traditional sweeties...
Barley sugar goes back to the 17th century by boiling down refined cane sugar and barley water, cream of tartar and water. Created by Benedictine monks in 1638 of Moret-sur-Loing. There is even a "Barley Sugar Museum" (Le Musée du Sucre d'Orge) in the town. Don't you love F&M's traditional Victorian packaging?
How else should christmas pudding look?
Edible toys for adults of all ages...
Fortnum & Masons candy counter heaven...
Gingerbread of course!Et macarons bien sur for your hamper.
Nutty balloons!
My nutty balloons during my 'Dickensian' period...
Why not go up in a balloon sitting amidst F&M's goodies? Are you expecting an xmas hamper for the holidays?
