Edgar Degas | Musée d'Orsay

On Wednesday I went to the musee d’Orsay to look at the Degas paintings on the 5th floor.

It’s a mixup of race horses (this one is mine)

Shoes dans le Metro

 Repettos dans le Metro...
A.P.C. Store makes the perfect little flesh-colored ballerinas. Here they are chatting up a pair of beige Converse.
A closer look at those velvet ballerinas at Concorde...
 Une copine dans le Metro...
Classic striped espadrilles in the Metro.
A fun stripped bag in the Metro line.
Someone trying on orange suede loafers at the Hermes sale.
Every single time I put on my red suede Repetto ballerinas it pours cats and dogs!
Nine-year-old Scarlet's Hello Kittie polka-dot bag (back view) would go perfectly with my dotty scarf...

Eclair-A-Day Diet

Deux eclair, watercolor, 9 x 11
Steph wrote me this morning and inspired today's post,
"chocolate eclair over cake ANY day...in fact, I did so much walking in Paris a couple years ago, I made it a point to eat an eclair a day - I would walk it off anyway.
Does it get any better?
True you will have to walk if off in Paris. Also true you will have to hit all the best patisseries for this diet to be effective, starting here with Sadaharu Aoki and his matcha tea eclair.
Next stop - an eclair pistache - I must try this.

La Maison du Chocolat has this artfully designed eclair.

The once delightful patisserie La Bonniere de Buci had giant 12" eclairs for 4-5 people on le regime.

Gerard Mulot offers two flavors at his 6th arr. not-to-be-missed neighborhood patisserie. Only one-a-day PBers!

If eclairs are an anathema to you, why not substitute Angelina's macalons'.
Two equal one eclair.

You could just hangout at Eclair Central. i.e. Fauchon.
It doesn't have to be an 'Eclair Weekend' but it wouldn't hurt.
Christophe Adam-Fauchon Drawing by Fauchon chef Christoph Adams
For the eclair-obsessed, this is the place for you.

The most inventive eclairs on the planet are at Fauchon, so if you want some variety in your eclair regime French  is the place to go.

The pictures tell the story.

Better than I can.

Get online PBers and order that eclair.
Part of the deal - wear your eclair-ballerinas.I haven't figured out yet if you're allowed to eat anything else besides eclairs on this diet. I'm working on it. As soon as I get packed and on the plane and and and
BONJOUR ONE-ECLAIR-A-DAY!
(Today is a repost. merci cg)

Valentin Bebe

Talk of growing up in France leading the good life has made me decide to be reborn in Paris.
Then I could growup to wear these ballerinas...
Start out wearing this little red cardi...

And grow up to wear red nails and red pull...
Bebe chausettes rouge...

Miam...
Lounge in a red pousette for starters.

And relax on on a red canope/sofa later.
Learn to write French script on a mini ardoise.

And write notes to myself in a chic cahier/notebook later.

Cupcakes are ageless.
Still I wouldn't mind growing up to appreciate a charlotte framboises.
Little red riding hood ring (seen on rue Cler) also ageless.
Bonne reve et bonne Saint-Valentin Jour!

P'tit Dej at Tiffany's!

Audrey's Croissant, watercolor, 9" x 11"
So what if Audrey ate a Danish not a Croissant.

Audrey/Sabrina ate like the rest of us.

Photos by Bill Cunningham/NYTimes As Bill Cunningham of the New York Times reminded us this weekend, everyone wants to have breakfast at Tiffany's. The video is even more fun.

Audrey drank coffee out of a paper cup like the rest of us.

In Paris you can sit on Audrey - the French are that crazy about her. This charmante chaise was in BHV.
Wanna sit next to Audrey on the couch..?
There are tons of Audrey posters in Paris. And I just saw one at the Brooklyn IKEA. We all want to be around Audrey. Maybe her 'je ne sais quoi' will rub off?

And carry these Paris bags.
Audrey had "cycle chic" way before the rest of us.
Her little dog, Famous, is the prevailing trend that won't go away. You can buy a faux little dog at Galerie Lafayette Home.
Audrey's ballerinas are a permanent classic in Paris or just about anywhere.
Laduree bag I'm certain Audrey would have adored this black patent cabas. It's got a Velcro closing, the lining is meant for protecting cold things and it's HUGE (13" x 15" - easily hold a small dog) and very sturdy for all of 16 Euros in Paris.

Laduree bag Perfect for CSA veggies and macarons.

This post was inspired by these mini key chains sent by Kat in Japan . Thank you Kat! Thank you Audrey! BONJOUR P'tit Dej at Tiffany's!
