In de praktijk is het voor slechtzienden een probleem buitenlandse woorden en/of teksten vertaald te krijgen. Zij moeten deze veelal eerst opschrijven en vervolgens met een loep opzoeken in een woordenboek of computerprogramma. Met deze hand-vertaal-loep is dat niet meer nodig en worden de geselecteerde woorden of tekst rechtstreeks gescand 10 en vertaald - desgewenst met een nadere uitleg uit een woordenboek, encyclopedie of dergelijke - om vervolgens op de door de slechtziende ingestelde grootte vertoond te worden.

Oe vinding betreft een mobiele hand-vertaal-loep welke - al dan niet geïntegreerd in een conventionele hand-loep of beeldscherm-loep - slechtzienden de mogelijkheid biedt buitenlandse woorden en/of teksten te scannen en te vertalen - desgewenst met een nadere uitleg uit een woordenboek, encyclopedie en dergelijke - om 5 vervolgens op de door de slechtziende vooraf ingestelde grootte vertoond te worden. 1036031
