How to read the results
Page Authority describes the exact URL submitted to Moz. It is the only exact-page result in this checker. Domain Authority, Domain Rating, Semrush Authority Score, Majestic's rankings, and the Common Crawl graph row describe the registrable domain. OpenPageRank describes the submitted hostname when its response contains a matching host score; otherwise the card identifies the registrable-domain fallback. A strong host or domain can still have a weak new page, and one high provider score cannot guarantee rankings, traffic, quality, relevance, or link value.
Data sources and freshness
Ahrefs, Moz, DataForSEO, Semrush, Majestic's live API, and OpenPageRank are queried through fixed provider endpoints and can reuse a cachedCaching stores a copy of a page or resource — in a browser, a CDN edge node, or a search crawler's own cache — so it can be served again without regenerating or re-downloading it. It isn't a direct ranking factor, but it feeds page speed and crawl efficiency. result for up to 30 days, matching how often these providers actually recrawl and republish their link graphs. This checker requests OpenPageRank's latest host/domain metrics only; it does not request or chart the provider's monthly history. The Common Crawl and Majestic Million results each come from an active, validated private snapshot and report that release's source date rather than a live per-request call. OpenPageRank is also derived from open-web graph data, so it is not an independent crawl from Common Crawl. Moz, OpenPageRank, Majestic Million, and the live Majestic API need this site owner to configure a provider credential (or dataset) and spending budget before they return live data; when a provider is not yet configured or disabled, its card says so instead of showing a fabricated number. DataForSEO and Semrush are pay-per-call rather than a fixed free tier, so they also need a configured owner budget, or a visitor-supplied key, before they run.
Bring your own provider key
DataForSEO, Semrush, and the live Majestic API currently require your own provider credentials because this site does not fund shared calls to those paid services. Moz and OpenPageRank normally use this site's shared allowance, but you can supply your own credentials as a fallback when that allowance is unavailable or exhausted. OpenPageRank keys come from a Keywords Everywhere account. Open “Use your own provider keys” above the input and paste only the credentials for the provider you want to run.
Those credentials are sent to this site's server for the request, used to call that provider on your behalf, and never stored, logged, or written to a cache. A result may be reused for up to six hours only in a separate cache namespace derived from a salted fingerprint of the same credentials; it is never placed in the site's shared-result cache. Clear the fields or reload the page when you're done. Usage can consume your provider quota or incur charges under your account. Ahrefs, Common Crawl, and the Majestic Million snapshot have no bring-your-own-key option here.

Limitations
Every score is modelled from an incomplete view of the web. API quotas, spend budgets, credentials, caching, crawl coverage, and update timing can produce missing or different values. “Not found” means absent from that provider’s available data, not zero authority. OpenPageRank and Common Crawl signals share an open-web data lineage and should not be treated as two fully independent votes. Majestic Million absence means only that a domain is outside the current top one million — not zero authority.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between page and website authority?
Page-level metrics describe one exact URL; domain-level metrics summarize a registrable domain. This checker sends the exact URL to Moz for Page Authority. OpenPageRank uses the submitted hostname when it returns a matching host score and otherwise falls back to the registrable domain; the remaining website metrics use the registrable domain.
Which authority checks are free without my own API key?
Ahrefs Domain Rating, Moz Page Authority and Domain Authority, OpenPageRank, and Majestic Million use this site’s shared allowance or hosted dataset and do not require a visitor key while available. Common Crawl also requires no visitor key, but its production snapshot is currently disabled pending activation. DataForSEO, Semrush, and live Majestic Trust Flow/Citation Flow currently require your own provider credentials.
Are DA, PA, DR, DataForSEO rank, Semrush Authority Score, Majestic, and OpenPageRank interchangeable?
No. Moz, Ahrefs, DataForSEO, Semrush, Majestic, OpenPageRank, and Common Crawl use different indexes, formulas, update schedules, and scales. Compare each metric only with the same metric and source.
Are these Google ranking scores?
No. None of these scores is Google’s internal PageRank or a Google ranking factor. They are third-party or open-web measurements that can help compare link profiles.
Why is one provider unavailable?
Each provider is independent. A missing API credential, provider quota or spend budget, temporary outage, disabled Common Crawl or Majestic Million snapshot, or a domain absent from a dataset affects only that provider; the checker still shows the other results.
Can I use my own Moz, DataForSEO, Semrush, Majestic, or OpenPageRank account?
Yes. Open “Use your own provider keys” below the input and paste your own credentials for any provider you have an account with. That request runs against your account and quota instead of this site’s shared budget, is sent directly through that one request, and is never stored, logged, or cached on this server.
Does OpenPageRank show subdomains and historical scores?
When OpenPageRank returns a score for the submitted hostname, this checker labels and shows that host-specific result; otherwise it labels the registrable-domain fallback. OpenPageRank offers monthly history back to January 2018, but this checker currently requests and displays only the latest score, rank, and referring-host or referring-domain count.

Page and Website Authority Checker
This beginner walkthrough checks one fictional page with eight authority sources. We will separate the one page-level score from domain-level scores, read four available and four unavailable provider cards, explain why the numbers cannot be averaged, and run a small two-domain batch. Every value is safe fixture data, not a live provider observation.
Step 1
This checker brings several backlink and open-web authority metrics into one report. Each provider has its own link index, formula, and update schedule. The page does not crawl your site, audit technical S-E-O, or combine the values into one master score. None of these numbers is Google’s private PageRank, and no score can guarantee rankings, traffic, quality, or link value.
Step 2
Use it to compare the authority of one page with its overall domain, track the same provider’s score over time, see which providers are unavailable before reporting, review a small list of domains, or create a handoff that includes where and when each number came from. The useful comparison is D-R to D-R or D-A to D-A, never an average of unlike scores.
Step 3
Scope means what the number describes. Moz Page Authority is the only card here that evaluates the exact U-R-L you submit. Moz Domain Authority, Ahrefs Domain Rating, DataForSEO, Semrush, Majestic, OpenPageRank, and Common Crawl describe the registered domain. OpenPageRank and Common Crawl contain the word PageRank in their names, but this implementation still looks them up at domain level.
Step 4
Some sources use the site’s shared allowance or a hosted snapshot, so you may receive them without adding a key. Others require credentials from your own provider account. Common Crawl needs no visitor key, but its graph snapshot is currently disabled. DataForSEO, Semrush, and live Majestic need a configured account and may use paid quota. Read this access section before expecting every card to return a number.
Step 5
Enter a full page U-R-L if you want Moz Page Authority for that exact page. The checker also extracts the registered domain for all domain-level providers. You can expand the optional key section or bulk section when needed. This walkthrough keeps both collapsed, uses no credentials, contacts no provider, and cannot consume a real account’s quota.
Step 6
Enter the reserved fictional trail-shoes page and select Check authority. A deterministic local response represents all eight named sources. Four cards return test values and four explain why no value is available. Notice that missing providers do not become zero. Zero would be a measurement; unavailable means the source was not evaluated.
Step 7
The status says four of eight providers returned data and that the other sources are explained below. That is a successful partial report. Keep the coverage count with any exported or copied values so another person does not mistake four provider results for a complete eight-provider comparison.
Step 8
The result header preserves the exact fictional page U-R-L and shows domain metrics normalized to example dot test. That makes the page-versus-domain scope visible before any number is interpreted.
Step 10
At the domain level, Ahrefs Domain Rating is sixty-one point four and Moz Domain Authority is forty-eight point seven. They use different indexes, formulas, and scales. Compare D-R with D-R and D-A with D-A—never average them into a synthetic authority number.
Step 12
OpenPageRank reports five point seven three, global rank one hundred twenty thousand three hundred forty-five, and eight hundred ten referring domains. The note labels the result cached and identifies its August first source date. It is a domain input and an open-web-derived metric, not an exact-page crawl.
Step 13
The Common Crawl graph card is unavailable because its snapshot is disabled pending activation. No PageRank, harmonic-centrality, or host count is fabricated. A disabled dataset is an acquisition state, not evidence that the fictional domain has no graph presence.
Step 14
Majestic Million returns hosted-snapshot rank forty-five thousand two hundred thirty-one, with referring subnet and I-P counts plus an August eighth source date. The separate live Majestic Trust Flow card is unavailable without an API key. These are distinct products and measurements.
Step 15
The result closes with the key interpretation rule: provider scores are independent measurements, the checker does not create a composite, and none of these values is Google’s internal PageRank. This disclaimer belongs in the handoff.
Step 16
Bulk mode accepts one domain or page U-R-L per line, up to ten. The fictional batch contains example dot test and competitor dot test. Provider keys, if supplied, apply to every row, while each provider’s own shared or bring-your-own-key cap still applies.
Step 17
Select Check authority, bulk. The summary confirms that two domains were checked. Each provider and target keeps its own state. If a shared provider allows only one domain, both rows receive an explicit cap message for that provider while the other sources continue. The batch never silently drops a target.
Step 18
For example dot test, Moz P-A and D-A are unavailable because the shared quota supports only one domain per request; the card says a visitor key can check more. Ahrefs D-R still returns sixty-one point four and preserves its cached checked timestamp. Nothing is silently truncated.
Step 19
Competitor dot test receives its own Ahrefs D-R value of fifty-five point two and the same explicit Moz cap state. This is a provider lookup matrix, not a competitive verdict. The score difference alone does not explain rankings, traffic, or link quality.
Step 20
The reading guide reiterates that one strong domain can contain a weak new page and one high provider score cannot guarantee an outcome. Start with scope, provider, and date; then investigate the underlying link and search evidence directly.
Step 21
Provider endpoints may reuse cached results for up to thirty days, while Common Crawl and Majestic Million report their snapshot source dates. Different link graphs recrawl and republish on different schedules. “Checked,” “cached,” and “source” dates describe different acquisition paths.

Features include page-versus-domain scope, eight independent provider paths, honest partial results, fixed source attribution, cache and snapshot freshness, optional one-request credentials, and a ten-target bulk matrix with explicit per-provider caps.

Authority scores depend on the provider’s link coverage, formula, credentials, quota, budget, cache age, and snapshot date. Two providers can disagree without either one being broken. This checker does not inspect content, technical S-E-O, relevance, rankings, traffic, or the quality of an individual link. Use a score to choose what to investigate, then examine the underlying evidence and business outcome directly.

When you save or discuss a result, keep the provider name, page-or-domain scope, date, and availability state beside the number. Compare each score only with the same provider’s score over time. Then inspect the actual links, relevance, rankings, and traffic. An authority metric is a comparison aid, not a decision by itself.
