General Supplies Needed:
- Design files for the girls, patterned paper, and sentiments. Files listed below.
- printer
- Electronic cutting machine, such as a Silhouette Cameo, Cricut, etc.
- An SVG file for a pop-up mechanism
- alcohol markers
- cardstock for printing
- adhesive foam
- liquid adhesive
- decorative corner punch
- A2 card base - top folding
Instruction
- Download and unzip the design files.
- Draw a rectangle 4.25 x 5.5" and fill it with the flowered pattern from the download.
- Bring in the design of the girls and the shadow piece. Color the shadow piece in your choice of color. I am using the patterned paper with the flowers as my color palette. Group the shadow piece and the image of the girls together.
- Add the sentiments "How are you?" and "I Miss You" to the design space. Size "How are you?" to fit on the front of the card about 2.75" wide. Size "I miss you" bigger at about 3.75 inches wide. I made a rounded corner rectangle around each one.
- Using the Print & Cut feature in the cutting machine software, print these elements and cut.
- Using an SVG for a pop-up card mechanism, Size a panel that fits the interior of the card and fill it with another patterned paper. I used this piece from another pop-up card I already had in my library. Print and Cut this piece. This picture below shows what this mechanism is, this is the side view of it.
- Color the Missed You graphic with alcohol markers.
I used Ohuhu markers - colors used: E05, WG10, Y42, Y45, Y49, Y412, Y415, YG36, YR00, YR03, YR04, YR06, YR34, YR39, YR43, YR55
- Add some color the sentiments. I use a light and dark color blended together just to add some color and interest to the pieces.
- Adhere the interior pop-up mechanism to the interior of the card.
- Adhere the patterned panel to the front of the card.
- Using a decorative corner punch, punch the four corners of the card. This is optional, just adds some decorative interest.
- Using foam adhesive, adhere the colored design to the front of the card. Add the "How are you?" sentiment to the front.
- Adhere the "I miss you" sentiment to the interior of the card on the pop-up piece.
- Write a message and send to your missed friend!
