New Maine Law Requires Reporting Time Pay
Applies to employers with 10+ employees
As of September 24, Maine requires pay for nonexempt employees who report to work but are sent home due to reduced or canceled shifts. Make sure your scheduling policies and procedures are up to date.
Maine’s Earned Paid Leave Rules Have Expanded
Applies to employers with 11+ employees
Employees may now accrue earned paid leave on top of any unused hours carried over from the prior year. If your paid leave policy limits accrual based on carryover, it’s time for an update.
