It’s tiiiiiiime!!! I’ve hit a new PB and finished my Christmas outfit in NOVEMBER! (holds for applause). This never happens - in fact I don’t usually sew myself a specific Christmas outfit but this year I was inspired. I thought I’d flick it onto the grid in case it inspired anyone!
These cutie patootie contrast bow print fabrics are from the 2025 @SpotlightStores Christmas fabric range and they’re an absolute delight! A nice crisp cotton that lends itself to a rara skirt as it is floaty but structured enough to make the tiers pop!
The pattern of course is the #PeppermintPasadenaRaraSkirt by @PeppermintMagazine with the bottom layer left off. I love this pattern for the drama and also the wearability of it. It’s perfect for festive eating because it has 2 short elastic panels on either side of the zip which means it moves with you. I feel strongly that your clothes shouldn’t get in the way of you enjoying your life and this baby is the dream combination of fashion and function.
This adorable top pattern has been on my ‘to buy’ list for ages and I decided the short sleeve view was the perfect way to complete this outfit. The #ssharriettetop by @SwimstylePatterns was the world’s fastest sew and I turned it out in about an hour including cutting time. The fabric is cotton jersey from @SpotlightStores and it’s proven to be a solid choice. I find stretch fabrics hard to buy sometimes so went into store to make sure this was what I needed. Nice and thick and with good recovery and a deep red colour that Laura perfectly with the skirt fabric.
Earrings are a loan from my best dance friend, Sarah and they’re from the talented team @DenzAndCo
