Krystal Duran on Instagram: "Just because it has no blooms, doesn’t mean it’s trash! 🥲

You’ll find many phalaenopsis orchids discounted once the blooms fall. It’s a perfect opportunity to give them a refresh and get them back to their full potential. When the blooms have died off, you can incorporate orchid fertilizer into the watering. These lived in front of a north facing window and I watered when roots were silvery instead of green.

Krystal Duran on Instagram: "Orchid are epiphytes. They grow on top of other plants and are not anchored in the soil. Epiphytes take up their nutrients from water, air, and debris around them. Living in Indiana, fall and winter temperatures get less than 55 degrees consistently which would prevent us from being able to anchor orchids or other plants to trees so this will just have to do. When choosing a board, choose one that is rot resistant. I used cork bark since it doesn’t rot but it’s also very easy to make holes in. It’s fairly plyable. Hang in a spot that will get light, water the moss when it’s almost dry, and you can incorporate liquid orchid fertilizer in the water when blooms fall off. Now we can live our orchid hanging dreams… inside 🌸 #plantstylist #orchidlove #plan Orchid On Wall, Orchid In Driftwood, Orchid Landscape Ideas, Unique Orchid Planters, Wall Orchids Ideas, Orchid Growing On Trees, Orchid On Tree Trunk, Hanging Orchid Planter, Orchid Ideas Hanging

Valerie Hendricks on Instagram: "If you just recently transferred your Orchids from mulch/moss to water culture, leave in water and change it out weekly until your orchid gets used to water for 2-3 months, then you can add your weekly fertilizer. Yes, transitioning them to water culture will shock your plant and yes, theres a possibility you’ll lose blooms if your plant had some. Some say it’s better to wait until your blooms have all fallen off for the season before you put them in water cuture. I’ve transitioned them with blooms and yes, some have lost blooms, while others didn’t. It just all depends on your plant. Don’t give up on your orchids. It takes time and patience and experimentation, practice and love. I’m not an orchid expert, but this is what works for my orchids! #orchids # Repotting Orchids How To, Orchid In Water, Orchid Display Ideas Indoor, Orchid Potting Ideas, Orchid Humidity Tray, Caring For Orchids After Blooming, Water Culture Orchids, Looking After Orchids, How To Repot Orchids With Long Roots
