The pottery has had a refresh, creating more space and better, more adaptable shelving thanks to @jimclabs 💕 I love it when this little studio is full of people doing workshops & creating pots, but sometimes when the old shelves were getting full I found it difficult to settle into making my own work and it constantly felt like a game of pottery Tetris! I don’t think potters ever feel like they have enough shelf space, but this will definitely help. I can’t believe it’s been more than five years since I moved into this studio.   You can swipe to see a current photograph of the workshop, as compared to the first picture, which was taken a few weeks after moving in, (back when I didn’t own any equipment whatsoever).   I suppose I had fairly unconventional start to my career as a ceramicist as I built an audience here, on Instagram as an apprentice to Lisa Hammond at Maze Hill Pottery. I didn’t have my first online shop until I had about 70... Lisa Hammond, Computer Work, Clay Glaze, My Career, Clean Room, One Pic, Career, Online Shop, Shelves

Bowls to trim, angles on the outside and deep foot-rings to carve into. This is my current wheel set-up, trestles on the right to slot incoming pots and to store those waiting their turn to be turned. In reality, had I been a potter in a world where social media didn’t exist, I’d find a cosy corner and wall to push my wheel against, shelves in front of me, so I can store pots and tools in my workspace more easily within reach. Instead, the wheel is positioned almost in the middle of the works...
