ClareUngerCeramics on Instagram: "Slab building with soft slabs requires some kind of mold/structure to support the form while it’s being made.
Here I’m making a hump mold from a plastic bowl that I like the shape of. I had to modify it slightly as I wanted the mold to have a curved base and so I used an existing piece of bisqued clay ( from a broken mold that I had in my studio) to do this. In an upcoming reel I’ll show how I make a bowl (like the one shown at the end of the reel) from this hump mold.

Kenny Sing on Instagram: "Here’s how I create rubber mother molds for ceramic slip casting plaster mold parts. In this case I’m using a 3d printed master mold, but the master mold can be made out of anything, commonly plaster. This rubber mold can then be used over and over again to produce the many plaster mold parts I’ll need for slip casting production. This process pulls from the generously documented and shared mold making methods of @hammerlyceramics and @vantiki. #moldmaking #siliconemolds #silicone #handmade #howto #process #ceramics #slipcast #slipcasting #clay #pottery #3dprinting #resinprinting #art #design" How To Make Silicone Molds Diy, Ceramic Molds For Sale, Plaster Molds Ceramic, Tesselation Art, Slip Casting Ceramics, Making Plaster Molds, Plaster Casting Molds, How To Make Plaster, How To Make Silicone

Elan Transfers on Instagram: "Who’s a fan of using foam to press mold pots? 🙋‍♀️

Watch 👀 as @lupineceramics adds our Fruit Transfers with a brayer and then she uses foam and a round ball to press form tiny plates!

We love to use wind glass bottoms in the studio to make little plates. What is your go to form to use when press forming with foam?

Kelly Brenner Justice on Instagram: "July is for plasterwork! I’m making molds all month, including some new pattern molds. I collect vintage glassware (and fondant texture mats and trivets and plastic and really anything with a pattern that sparks joy) and hoard them in the studio until it’s mold-making time. First step is to capture the pattern using plaster, like with the simple drop-out mold in this video. Then I use that mold to make more molds for my mugs, vases, jars, etc. What would you call this pattern? Maybe Daisy? #wip #plaster #moldmaking #pattern #slipcasting" Making Plaster Molds, Pottery Molds, Ceramic Molds, Plaster Molds, Mould Design, Sparks Joy, Molding Clay, Vintage Glassware, Clay Pots
