Chihiro on Instagram: "I used A5 wagyu from the Miyazaki prefecture to make the gyudon, a Japanese beef bow. I gotta say, it’s the best one I’ve ever made! [Ingredients] 200g thinly sliced beef (typically sold as “sukiyaki beef”) 1 onion 1 tbsp beef tallow or fat Thinly sliced ginger (optional) Shichimi & sesame (optional topping) Slow boiled egg (optional topping) [Broth Ingredients] 200ml water 2 tbsp soy sauce 2 tbsp sake 2 tbsp shirodashi 2 tbsp sugar 1. Thinly slice onions & ginger. 2. Lightly sauté sliced onions in beef tallow/fat. 3. Add & mix broth ingredients above, mix & add optional ginger. 4. Lightly simmer for 10 minutes. 5. Add the beef, fully submerge, gently cook until brown. 6. Leave it for a few minutes, put on top of rice along with toppings. #cooking #recipe #
