Could persistent links to present media files be implemented? (Or could someone point to how one get such a link).

In (external) machine learning applications where Wikimedia Commons media files are used, it is an advantage to be able to point to precise file versions, - not just the file title. I is unclear to me if it is possible to get a persistent link to the present file version on MediaWiki wikis, such as Wikimedia Commons. I see only persistent links to earlier versions of media on Wikimedia commons: Those with a prefix of https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/archive/
