This option was introduced to be able to define separate size of symbol for each of data series (not each data point).
Additionally for each data series it was possible defined linewidth and symbol shape (same way as for symbol size).
All those features seems to be possible in eChart. Please see my example here.

Regarding using the local Wikipedia language: is there anything beyond date formats and text labels that you would expect to be formatted?

Yes, decimal and thousand separators (digits grouping).

Template:Graph:Chart (eg. on English wikipedia) would be better place to look for users preference of charts parameters.

at first glance this library looks realy great. Project is mature, behing solid Apache trade mark and with presumably large stacks of money suppling this project.

Pseudo-protocols and CORS workaround doesn't work on beta.wmflabs for Wikimedia REST API.

Module:Graph p.chart() is ready. Other templates are not updated mostly because they use URL for data source. Since this is disabled on beta.wmflabs it's not possible to work on them effectively and debug.

Please enable "external data" access for Vega on en.wikipedia.beta.wmflabs.org. It's not possible to update modules and templates that use data from commons, wikidata etc. and Graph:Module/map because it use data geodata via wikiraw

Module:Graph for Template:Graph:Chart is updated to Vega 5 but only for "Chart" part is here https://en.wikipedia.beta.wmflabs.org/wiki/Module:Graph/sandbox. Function p.map() used by Template:Graph:Map is not updated yet.

Thank you for comment. I read in guidelines they like to have more "curvy" shapes so I changed it a bit and added bars. I think it look more "cartoony" and would be hard to confuse with real graph. I also left previous version with triangle. Maybe it could be use in case of chart error.
I think that my illustration skills are now somewhere on spectrum between toddler and Picasso ;-)

I changed design to be similar to visual style illustrations guide and also added 1,6 ratio version.

It seems to be browser related ("." works in chrome but not in firefox). Maybe graphoid use same libs as chrome/ium
