LOLOLOL - further proof that I live in a bubble. To be fair, his followers left his rallies in droves, he danced for 30 minutes at a recent rally (dementia, baby!) and very few polls had the sweep that we saw on election night. Also, his staffers were already giving interviews about it wasn’t their fault that he lost. (Spoiler alert: he didn’t.)

In the spirit of transparency, here is a post from a few days before the election. I was … not accurate.

Horse race predictions: Either it’s T by 1 point or H by 9.

Early voting is through the roof, there are 20 million (Source? -Ed.) fewer Baby Boomers thanks to Covid (How’d doing your own research work out?), and overall T exhaustion and H enthusiasm.

T will kick up a fuss, unleash his inept lawyers, and stage tantrum rallies but with a lot less fire from his crowd. He’ll continue to raise money because he’s broke and going to jail and his children have no talent for business. (Anyone seen Ivanka lately?) Besides, most GOP-ers will think we already had one black president and will survive this one. They need someone to hate because it’s easier than admitting they were duped by a grifter.

If T wins, Vance will push him out like the Dems showed Biden to the door. (They should’ve made Joe retire so H could be presidential for the past 3 months.) Senior GOPers will gladly be rid of T as they raise millions from H haters. Everybody wins!

Except T, of course. 🤔

She appeared in a slew of great movies and she made them even better every time she was on screen. Terri Garr was gorgeous but relatable, funny and charming and definitely smarter than the ditzy blonde characters that Hollywood wanted her to play. She really is the only likable person in Tootsie if you think about it.

Go read her 2008 interview with A.V. Club. If you like actors who have nothing to lose, this one’s for you. And of course she cuts through her co-star’s crap on Tootsie: “They put a man in a dress, and he’s supposed to know what it feels like to be a woman. But of course he doesn’t. I think what Dustin [Hoffman] says is, ‘I realize now how important it is for a woman to be pretty. And I wasn’t pretty.’ God! That’s all you realized? Jesus Christ. Oh well. Don’t quote me. Actually, quote me.”
