Hungary (2012)
4th May, 2012. Budapest

Thanks to Hu of his coordinated, the first day cover successfully reached to me after few weeks of issue. But it doesn't have any damage and looks pretty. Of course, in recent years, Hungary issued many beautiful stamps and seem collectable, it is one example to show how beauty they are.

4 birds of prey are common to eastern Europe but sorry as seem hard to find postcards, I don't have plan to coordinate maxicard in short period. Hope the country will issue other bird stamps again in future.

Common Kingfisher

Common Kingfisher (普通翠鳥)
Hungary (2001)

18th October, 2010. Nyíregyházai

Although kingfisher is a common bird in the world, seems I never specially show an item only with this species. Above maxicard arranged on late-September before the aluminum accident in Kolontár. However, it is not much relationship to the card, or say the kingfisher. As most of natural conservations are located in the east of Hungary, especially Aggtelek National Park is a main area to find large population of kingfisher, it also is a part of UNESCO world heritage site.

Nyíregyházai is the seventh large city located in the north-east Hungary, it seems a hub to visit nearby national park of conservations.

It is the forth cover related to International Year of Biodiversity, however I shall not collect them all due to some stamps are expensive and out of my topic. So here is the example to shown only the bird one from the whole set, and other three are other species to show how biodiversity of Hungary is.

Blue Tit is a common garden song bird in Eurasia, their diet habit is pests especially aphids (蚜蟲) but nowadays many people set up a garden behind their home which also have seed cans to attract Blue Tit and other common garden birds.

Few days ago I received a cover has two different national park stamps sent by Majoros in Budapest, thanks for the nice mail. Hungary issued 10 stamps present all of 10 national parks in the country from 1998, they are designed in same style which illustrated bird and its environment, and also the founder. The above two stamps are Körös-Maros National Park and Órségi National Park individually. Körös-Maros National Park (501.34 km²) in the border of Ukraine, created in 1997. Órségi National Park established in 2002, located in the border of Germany and Austria where have about 440 km² protection area.

The stamps also shown Great Bustard and Red Crossbill. Great Bustard breeds in southern and central Europe, where it is the largest species of bird, and across temperate Asia. In China, some people call master of brothel is bustard, but it is national bird of Hungary and called túzok. Red Crossbill is a common bird live in North America's spruce forests to mainland of Europe and Asia.
