Magical for a different reason: it was raining
We got a wonderful period of rain last week--something around 4.8" over several days. Adding in October's 1.4", that brings our garden to around 6.2" since our rain year began October first.
But the magic moment this post is about was a brief period Tuesday morning when the rising sun turned the dull, about-to-drop Acer foliage in the above photo into a glowing bonfire of light:
We are here to witness the magic that happens all around us every day. We have only to keep our eyes and hearts open.
Your words are more important than ever, HB. Best wishes for a happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteSweet of you, thanks. Hope your holiday was lovely. Mine was, and the weather was gorgeous too!
DeleteAnd, of course, I hear "This Magic Moment" sung by The Drifters as I read this. Happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteThey had beautiful voices, the Drifters. Humans have their failings, but the human voice in song can be magic.
DeleteWe are visiting central coastal California and the rain was welcome here, too. It felt very familiar ;)
ReplyDeleteYour Acer is gorgeous!
Hello Jane! Hope you are having Ia wonderful visit. It's such a beautiful area!
DeleteI'm quite attached to that Acer--it's a constant presence right outside our door. It was extremely stressed during our terrible drought of a few years ago--I'm happy it survived and looks healthy again.
