!What a really cool project ! It's look very different than other games !

Definitively on my list of game to test

Played this during stream, today! I recently played a different Polypaw game and loved it. Then I decided to check this out and loved it even more. You don't miss. This was so much fun! I was locked in like crazy lol

Hi, btw is it okay for me to make fan made merch of your characters in this game? ( if not sorry for asking 😅 )

Hey gabbyo19! That is such a huge compliment, thank you for asking! :D

I generally love seeing fan-made creations. As long as it's for personal use or a very small-scale project (like making a few for yourself or friends), I’m totally okay with it! Just make sure to credit the game/Polypaw if you show them off online.

If you were thinking of doing something larger or a big commercial store, definitely DM on discord itsPolypaw so we can chat about it officially!

I sent a friend request  and 👍 :3

This was a lot of fun and I managed to beat the game without ever going up the stairs. Don't know how I missed them the whole time haha!

Amazing game. I am not very good at these kind of games but this was super enjoyable. Definitely one to watch.

this is peak i love gizmy and he is my new favourite fictional character

(+3)

Well, here you have it, after 5 hours of torture i have managed to get lucky enough to beat Nightmare mode. You're welcome.

(+3)

I have been waiting for an update and it has finally arrived, I have only managed to complete Hard mode as of now, but may be able to tackle the rest of the challenges. I shall see.

(+1)

I start understanding that there isn't much the player can do in nightmare mode as the best you can do is put a lock on the door and hope he doesn't bang on it immediately, i've had scenarios where i was running between doors for 20 minutes because he wouldn't give me any time to work on opening my door.

Wasting a lot of resources avoiding damage between doors just to see if he has spawned in a door feels frustrating. It could use some sort of grace period where he can't bang on the door or come out of it after the lock is placed, or he needs to make a noise when he spawns to let you know he is in play.

Otherwise i'm afraid 3 doors is way too much work for little reward for an enemy that has no tell to its arrival.

Just to add to this, maybe it could be a bug as to why he is banging on the lock so frequently? Because even though he isn't right about to leave the door he'd bang on the lock immediately as i place it which makes me believe there is an issue with his pacing through the room.

(+1)

Believe it or not, I was actually working on a patch for Nightmare Mode right before I received your feedback! Regardless, I really appreciate the input—thank you

Oh that is interesting news, don't make it too easy now, just make it manageable otherwise it won't be a challenge!

(+1)

As i typed in the previous comment, i gave it another shot and managed to beat it with Excellent RNG. The code was an interesting world building tool, but i wonder if there is more to what we see in the secret rooms?

(+1)

So, I beat Phase 1 a few days ago (then the holidays started), and yeah, it's pretty well made so far! I know there's qualms about having to do a really time-consuming task which takes a really long while, but y'know, I think that is the point, finding windows of opportunity for the task.

My only complaints regarding the gameplay, I could be wrong about them, comes from some of these munters having no cue for when they're active. It's not an issue for the clock guy, but for the pumpkin spider... well, he can spawn in one out of three areas, which take a while to get to all of them, only for me to realize he didn't spawn yet, and I just keep running around until he spawns.

Maybe there is a cue for him spawning, I did notice there seems to be a whooshing windy noise that could be for him, but I'm not certain. Still, it did help, even if it was actually placebo and I didn't know. But it could be made a bit more specific...

...and that's a nice segway into something that does bug me about the game: you have no clear idea of what these guys do until you die to them once. You can maybe guess one or two things about them, but it's really not enough. I know this is probably to encourage trial and error approaches with them until you're told what they do, but by that point you might as well just have some way of knowing what they do before being thrown into the thick of it with just the instructions on how to move around and do things. I don't think people would enjoy having to keep dying to different guys on purpose just to know what to do. Plus it kinda takes me out of the immersion when I'm expected to die a few times in order to have a chance to win, when I'd assume just our wits could've been enough from the get go.

THATS WHAT I'M SAYIN'!

So, the finale has been achieved. V0.3 has certainly made it much easier. Quite frankly warrants the hard made you spoke of.

I also found an absurd graphical bug that caused one specific room to overlap every other room in the game, which kind of fit the aesthetic of the final phase. If it wasn't intended, you should definitely make it so.

This occurs at 21:17, i pressed S as soon as i got in the room, which i abuse when the movement cooldown doesn't occur and allows me to move immediately before the room loads.

Em Em still causes interaction issues. 13:55, flashing the room in the ghost room causes em to get hit, but keeps my interaction locked, this occurs when i am in the left pumpkin room as well, flash hits the adjacent room somehow.

Having Em Em, Bubbely and Ghost in the main lobby causes only Em and Bubbely to get hit by the flash while the Ghost remains untouched.

I'm curious there is custom night or not, and when I search someone who play all phase, I don't find anyone who's already finish this game.
Well I can't play horror game, I really scared person and easily to get scared lol (and hate jumpscare)

im actually afraid to play due to the game being not so balanced rn

edit: i no longer fear the balancing.

second edit...: me when the amazing digital circus

Bubbely is just like crash bash but more fair
also is pumpkipider's general body structure and DAREWARE.exe's head and hands inspired by RedMan?

He's like Crash Bash when you can bash Crash with a Crash Bash crash on Crash Bash for the PlayStation 1?

SALE ENDS IN 3 YEARS????

if it expires, the dev of this game will put it up again shortly after

2nd Part, it was quite difficult even with the update, but that isn't due to the pumpkinpider, Bubbely being able to leave and come back to the same exact room you are hiding feels cheap, but it may be intended. Cannot wait for Phase 3 to delete my existence.

Haha! , watched your playthrough and let me see it was so fun , it's so funny that you never acknowledge that the Stairs are an actual path you can go to (this is where the ghost came from ) , yeah a lot miss it to , I should acknowledge it in the next update, thanks for playing :)

(1 edit)

Really? I tried to click up there off video and nothing happened, maybe  i missed it.

Edit: I tried to click on top of the stairs and not where it connects to the floor. So i suppose i mislead myself into thinking it isn't a path. Whoops.

I saw someone playing some of phase 3 and the trailer was filmed in phase 3 so that sock guy and the blob child will be in phase 3 and there will be an sound o meter that goes up if you crank that souja boy, flash... idk bro i frogor

game is fun but stopped playing at phase two because bubbely is INCREDIBLY luck based. he hit me around 8 times in 2 minutes because of his instant respawn, ruining a good run. that and he can turn while you are going into a door, so he will attack with nothing you can do but waste a flash or tank exposure waiting for it to recharge. the rest of the game is incredible, and the graphics are really nice, would recommend when bubbely gets fixed/nerfed

Thanks for the feedback, it's on the v0.3 list !

Damn this is an awesome Game, the animations are clean, it has a Lot of rooms, mechanics, and characters, I just hope it gets an android version, to have the Game in My pocket and play it everywhere. Love this Masterpiece!

(+1)

Lovely experience to be slaughtered by pumpkins. Awesome artwork and theme. The ever increasing tension as you crank the gate open thinking if you will have enough time before a pumpkin comes barreling down the hallway. Or worse, forgetting how much time you have before clock strikes.

(+1)

I hate jump scares but this was fun great job keep up the good work.

(+1)(-2)

it looks like an amazing digital circus ripoff

(+1)

It's not you should play it it's fun.

(+1)

It's not though?

The terrific artificial funhouse

youre saying this man above me to a different guy

is this game going to be on Steam?

Probably not .. but who knows ?

I like the idea of your game like it point click game and character desingns etc. I found them very cute and scary at the same time. It made me play it more.
However therese is some thing I'd like to share with; I've managed to live until final phase (4) but I did same thing again and again and hope that I can a little bit lucky to finish the phase.
What am I meaning of it? I locked the main door I got the gate half open I flashed the clockey and hope that I am lucky to have virus in the first area. I tried to understand mechanics of game, understands what characters do and what's their aim but in phase 2,3 I can't find another enemies expect the one get me virus (I forgot the name I am sorry). And I tried enemies mechanics wich is like flash clockey and bubbely or lock the doors BUT PUMPKIN SPIDER IS SO SO SO HARD. hard to understand, hard to get away from it etc.
And I'd like to add, sometimes flash doesn't work on enemies (espically on bubbelly)
I see the vision of game and as I said I really liked it hope you are willing to develop this game because if I got full version of it I know it will be my fav game. Thanks for your hard work I can't wait to see full version

I'm already working on it ! .. this is the game jam edition.. and it was really rushed in the end, it was too ambitious for a game jam and literally got submitted 18minutes before the dead line  .. And I am taking your feedback for guaranteed.., the mechanics will be a lot clearer .. fixed and easy to catch up on , especially Pumkipider.. thanks a lot

(1 edit)

The game oozzes character, especially in the intro and seem to have a lot of interesting depth.
Through i found the main gameplay loop to be a bit tedious. Pulling the crank is very slow and boring which makes the game feel tedious when its the only way to progress.

Ive seen from some comments that exploring is meant to be be major mechanic? So you can find where the ennemies are and how to prepare for them i suppose? A cool idea overall but its a bit hard to grasp in the first level as exploring doesnt seem to provide any immediate benefit, and you dont get to learn how each enemy works without dying to them.

So i guess what this game mostly need is a better tutorial to really help players understand the importance of exploring to find out the ennemies patterns and locations.

Thanks for the feedback! I totally get what you mean — the gameplay loop can be a bit tricky to grasp at first, especially in Phase 1. There isn’t much clear direction on what to do yet, since I left that up to the player (and the death screens) for the jam release since i couldn't make a Tutorial before the Jam deadline ends

That said, I knew I needed something to make players do more than just “pull the crank.” That’s why Phase 1 has the Pumkipider, Phase 2 brings in the Ghost and Dareware, and of course, Clockey makes an appearance too.

A proper tutorial is definitely on my list for the next version. Thanks again :)

i think it would also be worth it to take the time to make the crank into a "spin the mouse" minigame so it feels a bit more dynamic.

That alone would probably make it a lot less boring.

(+1)

Great visuals and a fun take on classic sit&survive, really liked how exploration is part of the experience instead of just switching cameras. Nice game! Good luck in the jam

Thanks :)

Hey everyone — I hope you enjoy my newest project, Open Gizmy Zimy. It’s a bit different from what I usually make. And yep, to clear up any confusion — I’m still 4Dpixel Games, just rebranded.

This version was submitted for the Toxic Terror Game Jam, so I didn’t get to include everything I had planned before the deadline. Still, I hope you have fun with what’s here — it’s pretty challenging :)

I’m planning a full post-jam release where I can bring all my original ideas to life. Until then, thanks for playing and for all your support!
