Red-legged Partridge (Alectoris rufa) is a gamebird in the pheasant family Phasianidae of the order Galliformes, gallinaceous birds. It is sometimes known as French Partridge, to distinguish it from the Grey or English Partridge.

A first year ring-necked pheasant hen keeps a wary eye on the photographer. I came upon about a half dozen young pheasants that appeared to be all sibs. At first they hid in the bushes as I drove up, but after waiting a few minutes they emerged one by one and I was able to get some pics from close range - maybe 15 feet or so. A real treat! Seen at Bosque del Apache, NM.

Bird themed picture bingo game. We have a bird-watching club and I thought this was a good addition to incorporate into our bird-related activities. When a resident calls "bingo!" I ask them to read the birds that make up their bingo out loud, then ask what bird is their favorite before giving out their prize. Enjoy!
