My coaster is 10cm square and this is the spacing between all my panels and the wall/ and between each other! Note still use your level to make sure everything is straight but the coaster really helps quickly do all your even spacing! Such an easy and effective DIY project - I was able to do this in just over a day (and I’m quite slow 😆) A top tip- when cutting your strips a lot will be the same length. Jade Sweeney on Instagram: "ad STEP BY STEP GUIDE TO PUTTING UP THE £18 PANELLING KIT As requested 🥰 here is a slowed down version of the step by step Process of putting up the £18 panelling kit I got from @bandq_uk . This is part 1 and part 2 will be the wall light hack coming in a couple of days Here are a few extra tips I couldn’t get in the voiceover, inspired by the wall panelling guide from @bandq_uk! To work out even spacing I find drawing it out easiest! Roughly lay up against your wall how many panels you want. And then sketch it. Each panel strip is 10cm. So for me wall width was 310cm. I had 7 panels (10cm each) = 70cm. On my drawing this left me with 6 spaces between each panel. So 310-70= 240cm . 240cm/6 spaces = 40cm even gap between each panel piece. Some of these lessons I learned the hard way- don’t be like me! 1. Instead of a pencil, use a chalk line to mark the walls where you would like your dado rail to go. Especially up the stairs! 2. Plan how many picture frame panels you would like to create and draw them on the walls BEFORE you stick down any moulding. 3. If you don’t have a professional mitre saw to cut your wood, a mitre box saw or a junior hacksaw can still get the job done! 4. Always use a spirit/digital level to make sure your panels are straight. Do NOT trust your eyes alone. 5.
