I had a hard time finding photos when i looked…. But after a sample panel on our floor we went with Minwax Rustic Beige on our Select Red Oak flooring, the perfect light stain for red oak.
We had the most difficult time finding lighter hardwood colors for red oak floors. I searched all over and got some good ideas from Pinterest. We wanted something lighter but didn’t like the way some grays made the floors look with more pink hues or with alot of variations. We ended up making our own and love the color. Duraseal 1/2 special walnut and 1/2 classic grey. Its a light mid tone color that made the floors more consistent with less variation.

Couldn't find any good examples of stain colors on red oak so I made them! I am looking for a medium stain with less orange undertones, and have found combinations of stains to be the best bet. Keep in mind the oil based poly will make the stains a bit darker and a bit more honey colored.
