The godmother

The Fairy Godmother apparently started out as a more witch-like character first (image 1). The design could almost be a very early Maleficent.

Scary Godmother is the main protagonist of the Scary Godmother film series. She lives in the Fright Side with her "broommates" Skully Pettibone, Bug-a-boo, and Harry. Her home is spooky, but tasteful and comfortably decorated (called "homey, very homey" by Hannah) and has a classic "Haunted House" theme, although the house really belongs to Bug-a-boo. The whole book revolves around fairy godmothers granting wishes. Ralph was forbidden from ever making wishes, due to family members in the past getting unpleasant results when they made wishes. However, Ralph soon sneaks off on his own, and is given the opportunity for his long lost aunt to give him a wish.
