Wish Lanterns <3

Releasing sky lanterns is a tradition during the Lantern Festival. Sky lanterns, also known as Kongming lanterns. People write wishes, prayers, or messages on the lanterns before releasing them into the night sky on the last day of Chinese Lunar New Year celebrations.

Thousands of Khom Loy lanterns are released in the air on the festival grounds at the Mae Jo University. At the university celebration of the Loy Krathong Festival in Chiang Mai, Thailand, the lanterns are lit and released in a glowing cloud by thousands of festival attendees. A fire in a nature reserve near the coastal holiday town of Dénia in the Community of Valencia was started by Chinese sky lanterns, lit and sent up by tourists in the area.
