Commercial license terms — review draft
Draft for review. Sales are not open. This page is a summary of proposed terms, not a license grant.
The final agreement will identify the selling legal entity, effective date and governing terms. Existing written studio agreements remain the source of any grant.
Indie and Studio
Indie covers one named project, with unlimited seats on that project. Studio covers all projects of one legal entity, with unlimited seats. Updates cover versions released during the paid term. Those versions keep working after the term ends.
Introductory Indie pricing is $149 USD for one project including the first 12 months of updates; optional updates are $49 USD per year thereafter. Studio is $2,500 USD per studio per year. Taxes are calculated at checkout.
Your game and data
You retain ownership of your compiled output. The proposed grant permits distributing games on any platform. Applicable third-party BSD and MIT notices still accompany the relevant components. Project compilation and license verification run locally; no project upload or runtime activation is required. No telemetry is implemented.
Compatibility, verification and refunds
Run the scanner before purchasing and keep its report, especially the “share of lines compilable” figure. The proposed 14-day refund policy covers a scanner estimate that overstates compilable coverage by more than an agreed margin. The owner and counsel must set that margin, evidence procedure and applicable consumer terms before sales open.
Verifier reports are advisory. You remain responsible for testing your game. Compiled code can be reverse engineered. The threat model describes what remains visible.
Studio continuity
The proposed Studio agreement includes tooling source escrow with a named agent, released on cessation of business or 12 months without a release. The escrow agent and arrangement must be settled before this benefit is sold.
The engine module is a separately priced source add-on governed by the module addendum.
