On her first job she is harassed by the owner, and, during the fight, she accidentally wounds Jose Daniel who, furious, files a suit against her. On her second job, as maid in the house of the Del Valle family, she meets Luis Alejandro, eldest son of the family and with whom she´ll have a romance that will be exposed and punished with uncountable proofs of confidence, faith, jealousy and love. The ironies of destiny will mark the way in which the story is developed. Maribel will meet Rogelio Duarte, her real father, a very well positioned lawyer who was thrown into jail by Luis Alejandro´s parents. Now reconstructing his lost fortune, he is able to ruin the Del Valle family. Maribel ascends in social status while Luis Alejandro is forced to move into a humble neighborhood. Through jealousy and hate, Maribel´s fortune is taken away, and she will fight until she recuperates it and lives her love with Luis Alejadro that has never been destroyed.
