It seems like this beautiful young woman has found the love of her life, much to the surprise of her friends: Fernando Bustamante, Ramiro Malave and Efrain Rivero. The news of her wedding has all of them in an uproar. Unfortunately, a terrible event destroys Eugenia's happiness, she discovers the secret existence of a young woman in the basement of Edmundo's home. Eugenia quickly alerts Ramiro - her policeman friend - and immediately he organizes a search. But Edmund finds out and before they can do anything, he murders Eugenia. Ramiro, Fernando and Efrain vow to revenge her death and by following the killer they discover the young woman in the basement: Alejandra Santacruz, who has been kept captive for ten years. Alejandra is in shock, she has lost her memory and all touch with reality. However, the three men decide to protect her because in some way Eugenia died trying to rescue her. This is the beginning of a story filled with mystery and intrigues and Alejandra is the center of a terrible family conspiracy. Right after she's rescued from the basement, Alejandra is taken to a foundation headed by Victoria Bustamante - Fernando's mother - . However, no one could have known that Edmundo Mavares had blackmailed also Victory for ten years after she accidentally killed Nicolas Santacruz, Alejandra's father. Edmundo had extorted large amounts of money from Victory to keep Alejandra alive, and every month Victoria would receive a carefully taken picture by Edmundo of Alejandra. Fernando develops a very close relationship with Alejandra, it seems that only before him, this fragile and abused young woman would positively reacts. Efrain, who is a psychologist, personally takes care of the young woman's therapy thus prompting a love triangle. Now the two friends confront each other for Alejandra's love, who after overcoming her state of shock, falls in love with Fernando. After Victoria discovers Alejandra, she takes the path of unsuspected intrigues, which involves her husband Jorge Bustamante. Jorge has been the mastermind of Alejandra's abduction and there's only one person capable of confronting him, Felix del Valle, Victoria's godfather, but she refuses to believe that her husband could be a criminal. All these characters are involved in the web of mystery that surrounds Alejandra Santacruz, who doesn't remember who murdered her parents and doesn't know why she is the center of all the intrigues.
