The dream was short-lived, but it served to radically change the history of Spanish cinema. The work of its students allows us to explore the first images shot by an extraordinary collection of filmmakers who would leave their mark on new generations of viewers and directors: Juan Antonio Bardem, Luis García Berlanga, Carlos Saura, Víctor Erice, Basilio Martín Patino, Manuel Summers, Pedro Olea, Antonio Mercero, José Luis Borau... Their first frames help us to better understand their origins and subsequent careers, as well as to examine the process of modernization in a country whose citizens were still trying to overcome their collective traumas.
