PromptBase is an online marketplace for buying and selling AI prompts for models like Midjourney, ChatGPT, FLUX and more. Prompts are sentences of text that are fed into complex AI models to get a desired output, for example and image of a certain object in a certain style.
A Prompt Engineer is a new kind of technician, skilled at crafting the text prompts required for an AI model to produce consistent outputs (e.g. images, text or videos).

PromptBase issues payouts on a weekly/monthly basis if you reach a minimum payout threshold. You can also issue early payouts if you like. You can find more information about payouts here: https://promptbase.com/knowledge-base/payouts
You can view your payouts, balance, schedule, and minimum threshold here: https://promptbase.com/account?view=payouts
You can also view a payout's status in your Stripe dashboard.
Stripe will sometimes require you to provide some extra information to them, such as an identification document, in order to complete setting up your account. You should be able to do this via your Stripe Express dashboard.
If you are having problems, you can get in contact with Stripe using their 24/7 live chat by clicking the "Contact Stripe Express Support" link on this page: https://support.stripe.com/express
For specific questions relating to connected bank accounts, you'll need to contact Stripe. You can get in contact with Stripe using 24/7 live chat by clicking the "Contact Stripe Express Support" link on this page: https://support.stripe.com/express
Prompt sellers keep 80% of every sale of their prompt, and 90% of every payment for custom jobs. There are no extra hidden transaction fees. PromptBase uses these fees to help run our platform and offer services like support.
PromptBase uses Stripe to send out payments to you.
Read our full guide on payouts here.
Within your account page, you'll have access to a detailed analytics dashboard for viewing sales of your prompts, plus other useful information.
We use Stripe as our payments provider for sending payments to our Prompt Sellers. Unfortunately, for certain countries this is not yet supported. We are working hard to find a solution - check out our X page for the latest updates. You can also enter your country on this page to receive notifications when Stripe becomes available
Known countries affected:
Unfortunately we are held back with onboarding Brazilian users due to some of Stripe's limits for sending payouts across borders. We're working hard on a solution here - but don't have a specific date for when we can onboard Brazil users. Follow our X account for updates on when Brazil users can be onboarded.
Even though Stripe may not be available in your country - you can still create a different type of Stripe account with us called a "Stripe Express" account in order to sell prompts on PromptBase. This is like a mini version of Stripe that's different from regular Stripe.
You'll create this Stripe account when uploading your first prompt to PromptBase. You do not need to have created a Stripe account before.
If your sale was marked as "Fraudulent", this unfortunately means it was refunded due to being a fraudulent payment.
PromptBase sometimes attracts customers testing stolen credits to see if they work. When our systems detect this, we will automatically refund the payment so that PromptBase doesn't get hit with chargeback fees/fines from credit card companies.
It is super annoying for us and you as a creator. However, it had nothing to do with your prompt, or a dissatisfied customer - and only happens to around 0.1% of transactions.
Prompts are approved withing 15 minutes to 36 hours.
Yes. You retain all rights to your prompt, and are welcome to remove it from PromptBase at any point.
The featured section is handpicked from some of the best submissions to PromptBase. Generally these prompts demonstrate a unique original idea, and work extremely consistently.
We post featured prompt collages on our Instagram and Twitter pages.
If your prompt has been declined, please submit a dispute if you think there's been a mistake. If you go to your account page -> click your declined prompt -> click "dispute", then it'll be re-reviewed by one of our team.
We also have some standardised prompt submission guidelines that might be able to provide more information as to how you can edit your prompt to be more likely to be accepted: https://promptbase.com/prompt-guidelines
If you click on any prompt from your account page, you should see a "Thumbnail" tab near the top of the page. You can click this to select the three images to appear in the preview thumbnail. This only applies to image and video prompts (e.g. Midjourney and Stable Diffusion).
A prompts ranking and visibility in search results and trending prompts is determined by several factors, including:
There might be a slight mismatch with the launch date of your prompt in your email due to time zones. Rest-assured it will be go live eventually. If more than 24 hours pass and your prompt is still not live, please contact us.
Sorry to hear you got a bad review! It is a very frustrating part of running an online store.
The best thing to do is reach out directly to the reviewer to see if you can help them understand how to use your prompt better. All reviewers can edit/change their review - and this happens quite a lot of the time.
You can click the reviewers username to go to their profile in order to initiate a chat via PromptBase.
PromptBase rank is your rank as a seller on the site. It is displayed on your profile if you are within the top 10,000 sellers. We take into account views, sales and favorites to determine this. Rank #1 is the top seller on the site.
To get emoji badges for a model (like Midjourney) on your profile, you need to get 2 sales using that model.
To get category emoji badges (e.g. 3D, Fantasy, Graphic Design), you need 5 sales in that category. If you have achieved 5 sales in more than 5 categories, we'll only show the top 5 categories you have sales in.
To keep an upload streak going, you need to make sure you submit at least one prompt by the end of the day, e.g. if you submitted a prompt at 5:18pm on Friday, you'd need to submit at least one prompt by 11:59pm on Saturday to continue the streak. The prompt just needs to be submitted, it doesn't have to be reviewed or go live etc.
