This counter was made with three wooden crates that I got at Michael's. I waited until they sent out their 20% coupon so I wouldn't have to pay full price. All I did was paint the crates to match my color scheme, and I stack them and secure them together with velcro straps. I didn't want the crates to be glued together so I could save space and still easily transport them. You don't necessarily need a top, but I had some plywood that I wasn't using, and my husband helped me cut the wood to ...

Portable counter made from salvaged kitchen cabinet, architectural salvage, pressed tin ceiling tile, old door as counter top, shelves and drawer in back for storage. Best part......its on casters!!!
