They release compounds through their roots that repel nematodes and have a strong scent that keeps aphids, whiteflies, and even mosquitoes at bay. 🌿💪 African Marigolds? Gorgeous, but not as effective against pests. And Calendula (Pot Marigold)? Great for pollinators but doesn’t pack the same pest-fighting punch. The moral of the story: choose the right marigold for the job, and your garden will thank you! #GardeningMistakes #CompanionPlanting #GardenWisdom #GrowYourOwnFood #MarigoldMagic | Avellino Farms

(Who we sold when we moved cross country) The girls we had could thrive on minimal grain and alfalfa. While we still own one of these cows we wanted a cow that gave over 4 gallons a day. ➡️ Why? Our family has grown substantially over the years and we need a lot more milk. (Hello 6️⃣ kids) ➡️ We wanted a brown Swiss over a higher production jersey because of their demeanor, they are gentle giants. ➡️ And last but not least we want to breed registered brown Swiss cows. For our area they are harder to find compared to registered jerseys and we are always looking for ways to have income on the farm. Have a brown Swiss? More questions?
