Adorable Maggie and Quincy Bear Applique Quilt

Hey, Hey! I am back today with another fun project you can make with my new line of Sizzix Dies. This quilt is made with the Large Quincy and Maggie Die. It's nine blocks, each with an applique bear. I used Kona Solidas for the solid blocks and went to town using up all of my scraps from previous fabric lines. Ther's some Extraordinary World, Strawberry Festival, and Everyday Fun all in this quilt. Cutting the bears out is a whiz when you are using a die. It's a lot of fun mixing and…

Jennifer Jangles Blog: DIY Applique Onesie with Jennifer Jangles | Applique onesie, Applique, Onesies

Hello! I am back today with another project with my new Sizzix dies. This project is an applique onesie with the Small Maggie and Quincy Die. I have always wanted to try applique on t-shirts, but I had never done. Truthfully, I was scared of sewing on knits. They stretch and move and it just seemed like it was a disaster waiting to happen. I am happy to report though, it wasn't like I was expecting at all. It was actually pretty easy. Here's waht you'll need: Small Maggie and Quincy Die from…

Insect Tea Towels

I mentioned the Stetson Mansion Quilt Show in my last post about my Reversible Place Mat Tutorial. Judy Hansen down at the Quilt Shop of Dealand puts on a HUGE quilt show every summer at the Stetson Mansion. It runs July 18th-30th this year. Every room is decorated in a theme and is filled with quilts and other sewn items. The kitchen is going to be filled with insect themed picnic items this year. She's got my BugaPalooza fabric in her shop and so she asked me to sew up some items. Tea…

DIY Boo Boo Helper: Make Your Own Cold or Hot Pack

When my boys were little, injuries seemed to include a lot of drama, (drama as in dramatic acting). Actually, as I think about they still do sometimes! Bandages were always needed no matter how small the scratch was. Bumps always needed ice packs. And they always were hoping for a cast or crutches. Luckily, we have only had one crutch and one cast injury over the years. We are very lucky that most injuries were very minor. But this Boo Boo helper would have come in handy. Since my boys are…

Jennifer Jangles Blog: How the Happy Camper Bag is Made | Bag pattern, Sewing bag, Crafts sewing projects

Hello! The Happy Camper Bag has been very popular lately. And because it is one of my more difficult patterns, I have been getting some questions about just how difficult it is. If you have sewn bags with zippers before, I think you'll be just fine. But instead of me being the judge I decided to post pictures of the sewing step by step. It will help you get an overall feel for the project. Let me show you how it's made. This version was sewn using my Strawberry Festival Fabrics produced by…

Jennifer Jangles Blog: Applique Pirate and Ballerina Pillows | Ballerina pillow, Applique, Doll shop

You might of caught a glimpse of these pillows on Instagram the other day when I was taking photos. These pillows were made from the Pirate/Ballerina die from Sizzix. I love to applique, and if you take a look around the blog you'll see a lot of applique projects. So when I design dies for my line with Sizzix, I do my best to take applique in to consideration. If you iron paper backed fusible webbing on to the fabric before cutting, you just peel off the paper and iron the pieces in place…

DIY Wool Applique Animal Embroidery Hoops

Oh my, I had fun making these! They were such a surprise that they turned out so cute. Sometimes I start projects not having the slightest idea how they will turn out. You know it's fun to play around and be surprised when it works out better than expected. That being said, trust me on this one, I have a pile of half made projects that were not head in the direction of cute. They sit and wait for another day :) Alright, back to these hoops. The die I used to cut the cat, bunny, and bear out…

Pin Cushions and Fairy Gardens | Pin cushions, Felt crafts, Felting projects

I made these little miniatures for pin cushion toppers a few weeks ago. They have a flat little base and two holes. You can sew them on to the top of any pincushion. It's also starting to warm up here, so I've been thinking about my gardens. On my list of garden plans is a few fairy gardens for the front steps. I've been pinning a lot of them on my Pinterest lately, checking out how the are arranged, etc. Let me back up, if you're wondering what a fairy garden is... It's basically a…
