Paola Luther on Instagram: "Notice the green and blue tones between the eyebrows, on the side of her left eye, and below the cheekbone which allows for the portrait to have depth. If you paint everything with warm tones and similar values, the portrait becomes flat. The highlights placed above the eye eyebrow, on the top of the nose, above her cheek, and above the lips are what gives form to those beautiful facial features. Create a value structure using only two grays, one for shadows and another one for mid tones. Step2. Blend and enrich values within the previous structure (you’ll need some darker shadow and I between grays. Step3. Add color to your base, or on top using overlay as blending mode: keep in mind some color variation;) Step4. Keep adjusting colors on top as needed, the rest is confetti 😉 . . #scribble #sketch #illustration #study #inspired #art #digitalillustration #portrait #beauty #beautiful #fashion #planesofthehead #characterillustration #man" Value Practice Reference, Face Reference Shadows, Digital Art Values Tutorial, Values Study Reference Art, How To Add Shadows To A Drawing, Digital Art Shading, Value Study Reference, Value Shading, Shading Faces
