2.1K views · 1.8K reactions | After you strain your vanilla extract save your beans and make vanilla sugar, it’s a heavenly treat. Just place your spent beans from the vanilla extract into a jar and cover with sugar. I let mine dry out just a bit on cooling rack, before placing them in the sugar. I use cane sugar, but any sugar will do. Place a lid on it and every couple days give it a shake to evenly disperse the scent/flavor through the sugar. Wait a couple weeks or longer before using. Use this in body scrubs (so good), or roll sugar cookies through before baking, use after baking for sprinkles, or use on the rim of glass for special cocktails. Vanilla sugar can be used in place of regular sugar in a one to one ratio. The only thing to remember is to use in recipes where it won’t be overpowered, like a chocolate cake or a cup of coffee. Sometimes I just open the jar and smell it because it’s so good. #slowliving #baking #handmade #homemade #vanillasugar #holidaybaking #slowfood #intentionalliving #cottagecore #tuckercounty #randolphcountywv | The Wild Apothecary

Because my daughter and I are struggling to tolerate dairy right now, I decided it was time to give it a try. And I was pleasantly surprised with how easy and satisfying the process was.☺️ Ghee is more allergy-friendly because the lactose and casein are removed with the milk solids. But if you have severe dairy allergies, please proceed with caution and do your own research! To make ghee, you want to heat your butter over medium heat. Once the butter starts to foam, just skim the foam off into a separate container. This part took longer than I thought it would, so be patient. All of a sudden, the butter will take on a much more translucent look, which means that the milk solids have fallen to the bottom and will very shortly start browning. If you don’t love the rich, nutty flavor of ghee, you can definitely stop before the milk solids start browning. In that case, you will have clarified butter. Ghee is clarified butter that is simmered until it takes on that nutty, rich aroma…but both forms have the casein and lactose removed! #Homesteading #HomesteadSkills #HomesteadLife #MoreThanFarmers #FamilyMilkCow #SelfSustainability #Self-sufficiency #FoodPreservation #FoodSecurity #FoodIndependence #RawMilk #Ghee #RawButter | More Than Farmers

I typically buy the light mayo at 35 calories per tbsp, but then I end up with 70 calories of mayo because one tbsp is never enough. I get that this mayo looked yellow … but it was for sure creamy and delicious regardless. I probably will add less mustard next time I try this. And TEN calories per tbsp! I was dipping my veggies in it! Here is how you make it: Blend the following until smooth and store in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. 4 boiled (and peeled) eggs 45g mustard (I used Dijon) 1/2 tsp apple cider vinegar Dash of salt #Caloriedeficit #lowcalorie #lowcalorierecipes #lowcaloriemeals #lowcaloriesnacks #weightloss #weightlosscoach #thecaloriedeficitqueen #fit #healthy #4mfit #lowcal #bodycomp #bodycomposition #fit #mayonnaise #eggs | The calorie deficit queen - Kacy Allensworth
22K views · 1.5K reactions | 🍎 Benefits of Homemade Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) 🍎 Here’s why you should try it: 🌿 Rich in Nutrients: Homemade ACV retains more beneficial enzymes, probiotics, and vitamins that can boost your digestion, support weight management, and promote healthy skin. 🌿 Supports Immune Health: Raw honey and apples are rich in antioxidants, which can help strengthen your immune system, especially when they’re local! 🌿 Leg Cramps : Did you know that taking a shot of ACV can alleviate leg cramps? This has been my go to anytime I get a leg cramp in the middle of the night ! 🌿 Supports Bile Production: Many people suffer from low stomach acid, which can lead to poor digestion and inadequate bile flow. ACV helps increase the acidity of the stomach, promoting better digestion and the release of bile into the small intestine. Bile is essential for emulsifying fats and aiding in their digestion and absorption. Simple Recipe for Homemade Apple Cider Vinegar: I like to start by soaking my apples in baking soda & vinegar for 15 minutes. If you’re just using apple scraps you can skip this step . Ingredients: * 7 apples (or apple scraps) 🍏 * 4 cups of filtered water 💧 * 5-6 tablespoons of raw honey 1. Chop the apples (or use the scraps) and place them in a clean jar. 2. Dissolve the honey in the water and pour it over the apples, making sure they’re fully submerged. 3. Cover the jar with a cheesecloth or paper towel and secure it with a rubber band. 4. Store in a warm, dark place for 2-4 weeks, stirring occasionally. You’ll notice a tangy smell as it ferments. 5. Strain the liquid and transfer it to a clean jar. Cover it again and let it ferment for another 3-4 weeks until it reaches your desired taste. 🌿 Tip: Use local apples (or from your own tree!) and raw local honey for maximum benefits. These ingredients carry the unique “light codes” from growing in the same environment you live in, creating a deeper connection with your surroundings. ✨ #HomemadeACV #NaturalLiving #WellnessJourney #HealthyLiving #SupportLocal #SustainableChoices #HealthFromNature | Konnect4Wellness | Holistic Health Coaches
