about

Reviews:

Prolific composer/keyboardist Richard D. Ruttenberg’s latest EP, “Infinity Mirrors,” demonstrates his continued artistic excellence, beginning with the sophisticated and energetic title track. Ruttenberg collaborates with an accomplished ensemble: Jimmy Haslip serves as both producer and bassist, Randal Clark features on saxophones, and Steve Pruitt provides drums for tracks two and four, with Ruttenberg himself on keyboards and additional instrumentation. The second track, “Ramanujan,” is notable for its intricate chordal textures, leading into “Strange Land.” Track four opens with the evocative sound of a thunderstorm, seamlessly transitioning into the intellectually engaging “Brainstorm,” characterized by syncopated rhythms and atmospheric electronic elements. The compositions “Partition” and “Paradox” follow, each reflecting clear influences from
Eighties-era Weather Report. Overall, "Infinity Mirrors" offers compelling, atmospheric arrangements and stands as a strong addition to Ruttenberg’s already extensive body of work.
- Composer/Arranger Saxophone Recording Artist Brian Grace

I'm stunned at the beauty of this album. The musicianship is without peer, not to mention the Saxophone really caught my ear! Congratulations on yet another amazing album.
