August 2025 represented 25 years of Three Lobed Recordings. Rather than do a big elaborate series like we did for the 20th or another large project (Parallelogram for the 15th, the Not the Spaces box for the 10th) the plan is to run business as usual for the most part around here. Business as usual in this case includes 5 titles between August of this year and well into next year. Here’s the deal regarding the 2025-26 TLR subscriptions:
1) There are going to be five (5) Three Lobed releases between August 2025 and August 2026. Here are the five titles that are fully locked in for Q3 2025 through Q3 2026 (Object Hours' "Solved By Walking" [TLR-164], Steve Gunn's "Music for Writers" [TLR-165], Sun City Girls “Cloaven Theatre” / “That Old Western Sieve” [TLR-155, a 2xLP], Sun City Girls “The Palm Leaves of Victory” / “Audio Letter to Mitch Meyers” [TLR-156, a 2xLP] and RIBS’ “COLD RIBS” [TLR-167]). You read that correctly, two (2) double LPs are part of this run.
2) All of the titles have subscriber-specific color variations. Also, as in the past if you just prefer black vinyl, no problem – just let me know!
3) All titles include Bandcamp coupons (or will include Bandcamp codes that will be sent to you via email).
4) Added bonus - we have been spinning up some smaller run additional titles recently and folks who are subscribers get first crack at snagging copies. Fun!
5) If you’re an international customer we know that shipping rates from the US to anywhere else aren’t kind. As with the 20th set, the 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025 subscriptions, we’re good with holding international orders until the final title is ready to go and shipping as a batch for combined shipping.
This 2025/2026 Three Lobed subscription is as limited as it was in 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025 with only approximately 140 slots available.
This price here is inclusive of shipping for US addresses for the five LPs. For non-US addresses shipping will be passed through at actual rates in effect at the time of shipping and collected at that point in time. I always do my best to keep prices as low as possible and this is no exception.

“No one likes it when trash makes a sound,” shouts Mike Wallace five minutes into “Working in Shoes,” the last track on the strangely confrontational and magnetic second album, COLD RIBS, from his band of post-punk form-fuckers, RIBS. Can you hear the smile and the sneer in his doubled voice, the line bouncing between speakers like lasers in a mirrored room, while the rhythm section lands as heavy as gnarled fists on a wooden table and the guitar stings like a newspaper headline so bad it gives you a headache? By this point, for nearly an hour, RIBS has served the sound of that garbage, delivering cold truths about this hot planet—the bad habits that hinder us, the inevitability of our existential suffering, the idiots empowered by weaponized technology, the corruption of things that once seemed cool because, well, they were in fact cool. Wallace and the rest of RIBS see the problems, and they want you to hear the sound that reality’s trash makes—whether you like it or, especially, not.
COLD RIBS calls for a fun game of band genealogy: Is that The Fall and Faust echoing down the long hallway of opener “Decomp in the Field”? Maybe. And does the savage “High Fives of the Four Horsemen” feel like Fugazi dosed on just enough This Heat to you, too? Probably. And, wait, does “Cold Daylight” reimagine The Rolling Stones in 2026 as a band not still trying to peddle young-men bullshit but squaring up to the real world? Hopefully. But the real thing to know about RIBS—Wallace, who cuts vitriol with a vocabulary full of winks; guitarist Finn Cohen, who loves riffs and their opposite; drummer Josh Germeroth and bassist David Mueller, who know exactly when to punch hard or pull back—is that they have been writing records in other bands in North Carolina’s influential scene for a long time. They know by now the way that rock ’n’ roll, however slanted and strangling it seems, is a pressure valve for bleeding off the strain of these times, even if it doesn’t fix anything.
“What used to scare me is no longer frightening/No, not anymore,” Wallace speak-sings on repeat during “Strange Victories,” landing a hook that feels as unlikely as a rainbow in a snowstorm. “Whatever’s coming is coming for you and me/So open that door.” Into the void we go, then, RIBS and us, us and RIBS.
