memory planner full

I've reached the end of this planner. Before moving on to the next week's spread which will be in a new planner book, I'd like to share how I spruced up the last page of this one. Had this fulll size photo and it was too good to not include.

STB march 2024 in a nutshell

Here's a peek at my March month-at-a-glance in my 2024 STB memory planner.

People use them as a calendar. I decided to do a glance back at the end of the month and do a month-in-a-nutshell. Just having fun with all the things that somehow stuck out to me as having been important in that month. What a fun exercise that is.

However... note to self... don't use wet glue to adhere vellum!

May I introduce March-in-a-nutshell.

STB - march 25 2024

More March 2024 in my Heidi Swapp STB memory planner. It's Easter Week!

Less photos. More fun place holders, even adding quite a bit of texture. Why? Who knows. I felt like it.
Also, I played outside the lines - Jamie Pate does this so well. I think it's a great idea although I rarely do it. Do you try to stay within the pre-printed lines in your STB?

Found a PP in the pad that had words as its pattern and decided to cut them out and use them as captions for photos. That led me to my color choices. Again, nice having PP with color schemes already perfected that you can use to create your pages.

Used some bigger stamping and stickers too. Apparently I will never tire of rounded photos. And photo pockets and flip ups ;)

STB february 2024 in a nutshell

I used the month-at-a-glance in my 2024 STB memory planner for the first time.

I know people use them like a calendar. I decided to do a glance back at the end of the month and do a month-in-a-nutshell. Just having fun with all the things that somehow stuck out to me as having been important in that month. What a fun exercise that is.

However... note to self... don't use wet glue to adhere vellum!

May I introduce February-in-a-nutshell.

STB - february 12 2024

Remember a couple posts ago I said I can't seem to keep myself in line when it comes to pastels? This is what I mean.

Even with the rosy beige leading the way, I got all kinds of colors in there with it!

And remember how I said I liked that other spread, maybe because you really don't see the photos? Well, not much tucked away here. Pretty much all in your face.

I used stamped hearts to make the page seem coordinated. And boy did I hit up my old stash. Paper. Stickers. Stamps. That's what's in my Heidi Swapp STB memory planner this week.

A busy spread for sure. But the memories come back instantly when I see it all staring me in the face.

STB - december 4 2023

We've reached December in my 2023 STB memory planner. woot woot!

Got the snow I'd been hoping for. A quiet week. Hubby home after his OP and incision care began. Unfortunately another uncle passed away. #lungcancersucks And we really didn't do much. But it was kind of fun having space on my page to fill with random stamping for a change. As a lover of white space, I really don't have a lot of it in my pages ;)  Notice how I went totally grid-y on this spread? It's a great method.

Using up more stash on my Heidi Swapp memory planner.  Alpha stamps. Number stickers. Washi. And Heidi's fun stamps.

STB - november 20 2023

More November 2023 in my STB memory planner. Slowly but surely we're making our way to year end.

This was a busy week with some health issues, creative time designing a wedding card to match a wedding invitation and a mini-Thanksgiving for us with the kids. Oh and Left Coast Revivals binging. Love that girl.

Using up stash when working on my Heidi Swapp memory planner preserving memories like this ;) Giving those old alpha stamps a workout. And alpha dies. And playing with PP for pockets and flaps. Is there anything more fun than little photo books? And... the Heidi Swapp tiny stamps!

avery elle storybook cutie

And (finally) the last of my commissioned cards to share with you. Hope you've enjoyed the series.

This was a card for SIL. My friend showed me a photo of the present she was giving her. It had the cutest little penguin on it, just like the one in a stamp set I have. So this happened.

Studio Calico Happy die
Studio Calico PP
Action Deutschland ephemera
Heidi Swapp Color Wash spray ink

Heavily loaded, eh? My friend is actually a fan of cards with layers. But I tried to keep the layers light. And wintry... cuz penguin. Some splatters. Some punched circles. Some snowflakes. A watercolored cake sticker. A sentiment. And a penguin.

I'm hooking up at SSS Wednesday Challenge Anything Goes, The Paper Girls Birthdays and Daring Cardmakers Layer it Up.

light and airy confirmation card

Stopping by today with a card I made for a confirmation. I was inspired by this card. Check out Silke's grid on IG if you're feeling in the mood for light and airy collage design... She does it like no one else.

I do not have as light a hand as Silke, but I used up a little more PP  ;)

Basically, I just pulled out a PP pad and some dies which I thought fit the confirmation theme. Die cut some pieces and then spent way too much time arranging and rearranging them until I got something I was happy with ;)

Thanks for looking. Have a great week.

simon says stamp - filigree heart card

There's a blog hop for the Fresh Bloom release happening right now over at SSS and there are some beautiful and innovative products. I was lucky to receive the Filigree Heart die to play with.

Did you see my post yesterday? I made a set of tags, and since I had one "practice" blue die cut left over, I turned it into an embellishment on this card.

WPlus9 Heart die
Hero Arts Sentiment stamp
cardstock scraps
Studio Calico Snippets PP

Used an inked BG I found during my craft room cleanup to back the heart with. Fussy cut the BG and the heart.

Be sure to check out the release if you haven't, and all the makes with it in the gallery at Simon Says Stamp. I'm happy I got to have some "fun" with this new die. Thanks mucho, Simon.

STAMPlorations inspiration #178

It's summer break time over at STAMPlorations through September, but we're popping in today with an inspiration post from the inspiration DT . Hope you're enjoying summer (in this hemisphere).

This month I'm creating with the Stamp Club set Succulently. I was inspired during the Daily Marker 30 Day challenge to color. Meet today's creation. I had such fun with this.

Copics

I had fun with the images and Copics. There's just something about that vase! And the tiny blossoms - barely noticeable but allowing for a little pop of color.

Even Copic-colored the die cut sentiment. And added a coat of Glossy Accents to that fun vase!

A reminder that during the STAMP summer break, every Tuesday all stamps, dies and stencils in the shop are 15% off. Use my code STAMPGIRLMARIA to get an additional 20% off.

STAMPlorations inspiration #177

Although it's actually summer break time over at STAMPlorations through September, we're popping in today with an inspiration post from the inspiration DT . Hope your summer (in this hemisphere) is progressing nicely - not too hot, not too cool.

This month I've decided to create with the Stamp Club set Succulently. Inspired during the Daily Marker 30 Day challenge to color, here's today's creation.

STAMPlorations Thanks die

washi

I had some fun with the images and Copics. Shirley had told me that her pooch has a thing for cordylines, thus the plant in the center. For the other two succulents I gave 'em a touch of purple to go with the pink ;)

Grounded the planters on die cuts using that cool shape from the matching die set and added the sentiment. A strip of gold washi along the bottom... I like that little touch.

During the STAMP summer break, should you feel like exercising your shopping muscles... every Tuesday all stamps, dies and stencils in the shop are 15% off. Grab my code from the sidebar to get 20% off on top.

simon says stamp classic bicycle - his, hers, theirs

Know what today is? It's Simon Says Stamp Good Vibes release day!

I've got a few cards made with one of the fun dies from this release - Classic Bicycle.

First, for him. Wouldn't necessarily have to be, but I was thinking masculine when I made this. Perhaps cuz I have a DH who goes on a bike trip once a year with his buddies. And I have no idea if there are wooden bikes, but if anyone makes one, probably a fabulous, young company in Detroit called Shinola ;)

I thought the illusion of a forest was a fitting background. And why not stamp a little sentiment onto a geocaching tag? Getting some good summer vibes?

Next, for her. A shiny red one. In a nod to Kate Spade...

And how about one for the kids? Balloons are always a good idea, agree? I dabbed Distress Ink onto vellum and die cut the balloons from it when it was dry.

FYI, I'm currently crushing on this method of getting adhesive onto intricate die cuts ;)

Thanks for stopping by. If you enjoyed these, come by tomorrow for two more...
And be sure to check out the Simon Says Stamp blog for the entire release and there'll be tons of inspiration on the blog hops on Thursday and Friday too.

summer's in the air!

OK. Not really. But my venture into spring cards has led me right down the road to tropical cards. Actually it was the palm PP in this kit that gave me the idea.

There's the perfect palm branch stamp in Flora and Fauna's Flamingo Pool Party. The rest just happened! Boy, did I have fun creating these...

Studio Calico PP
Versamagic Pink Grapefruit ink
printed acetate
washi

Randomly stamped the palm branch. Then I added some Moonstone embossing paste through the hibiscus stencil at the top for extra oomph. Since things were sparkly I decided to add shiny too. The negative from the sentiment die was a leftover so I filled it with a positive cut from PP. Added the gold polka dot washi strip at the bottom too. I sure love dressing up this VW Van!!!

Then I upped the fun factor.

Studio Calico PP
Distress ink
Gansai Tambi watercolors
sequins

Used PP for the VW van. Stamped and no-line watercolored the pool toy then masked it and brushed on some Tumbled Glass before adhering the van. Watercolored a sheet of paper green and then cut the leaves from it. Sequins as headlights cuz why not?!?

ellen hutson pinsights challenge

Recognize which challenge I'm playing with?
This is the inspiration for the Pinsights Challenge over at the Ellen Hutson Classroom.

In the process of finally cleaning up Mt Scraps which had accumulated on my desk, I came across this succulent grouping which I'd heat embossed pink on vellum. Those succulents had caught my attention in the graphic, so I flipped the vellum over and hit it with some Distress Inks using a finger dauber.

Studio Calico PP
vellum
Evergreen Bough, Victorian Velvet, Shaded Lilac and Dusty Concord DI

Fussy cut a piece of white paper to back the vellum with so the colors showed better and then die cut the sentiment and inked it with the ink leftover on the daubers. A piece of PP for the card front and voila!

And then, cuz I have an on-going love affair with macarons but have yet to see any as beautiful as those in the graphic, I had to have a go at my take on that marble/swirl goodness. Gave it a go for my BG to accompany more die cuts from Mt Scraps. Which BTW you can see in this post.

watercolors
Nuvo drops

These navy/white blooms were also under Mt Scraps so I just added a little DI color to parts of them and adhered them to a cardbase I'd swiped some watercolor across. In the next shot you can catch the sparkle from the Perfect Pearl mist I hit it with too. BTW, the inside reads "for a happy birthday."

I'm also hooking the second card up at:
