Knee compression sleeve and knee arthritis- do they work?
Have you tried one yet? In the study “Immediate effect of the elastic knee sleeve use on individuals with osteoarthritis” by Byrk et al 2011 they found that just adding a knee sleeve may produce significant results in terms of pain reduction and improved function ☝🏽 The only variable that changed was the knee sleeve. The results were considered significant. Even if by just a few points- it still is very promising‼️ Combining with exercise and movement you can maximize your results 😍 Please keep in mind these aren’t going to bring total pain relief on their own. The higher the object, the harder this will be. Use support if needed. This works your hips, your balance, and your coordination- all important for finding knee pain relief. Dancing for relief! ✅ Here are some of my favorite dance moves to get your knees feeling good as a physical therapist 💃🏻 Turn on some music and give these moves a try- modify if needed, add support of a chair or kitchen counter if you need! 🎶 It’s all about moving in new ways to keep your knees happy! It may feel a little difficult at first- especially if your new to my channel but once you start getting your knees used to variety- you may be surprised at how good they feel! I often speak with people who are having a hard time finding movements that don’t hurt their arthritic knees. When your knees are flared up and/or irritated- it can be difficult to move ☝🏽 I want you to know it IS possible though 🙌🏼 Listen to your body and understand that more pain does not mean more ga

For walking, stairs, and balance! Getting confident standing on one leg is important for lots of different things but can be difficult in you have knee arthritis ☝🏽 Working on balancing on one leg and moving the other can be a great place to start getting better at walking and stair climbing 👏🏼 Use support if needed, especially if you have a hard time putting all of your weight on one side right now- kitchen counters work great 👍🏽 Complete up to 20 times as long as it feels good to you ✅ Modify as needed. The smaller the step, the easier it will be. Increase step height for increased difficulty.
