I made this terrarium in October of 2020 and it’s been closed ever since!

THE WOODEN BALL fell in there when I was trying to find something to close the top 🤪 I couldn’t tip it to get it out because I already had the layers in there so there it stays!

The 4 year old plants have died off and decomposed without any smell (thanks soil microbes!) so now it’s time to add a new plant!

Ferns do so well on these terrariums and they just look so whimsical—I love them!

✨ I use pea gravel for my water reservoir layer but you can use any small stones you want.

✨ medium is equal parts potting soil, sand & sphagnum moss
